Clara’s POV

I stood in my office, looking out of the window with my phone in my hand. My heart was beating so fast. I was nervous and scared at the same time. I was waiting for a message from someone, and every second felt longer.

What I was about to do was wrong. I knew it. And I also knew that if Dominic found out, he would kill me. But I had no other choice. He left me with no choice.

Beep.

My phone pinged. I quickly looked down and saw the message I had been waiting for. It was from her.

“Done.”

I took a deep breath and swallowed hard. My hand shook a little. There was no going back now. I had come too far to stop.

I turned away from the window, took off my coat, and picked a small bottle of perfume from my bag. I sprayed it all over my body. When I was done, I picked up some documents from my desk and walked out of my office.

I entered the elevator and pressed the button to the presidential floor. I wanted to get there fast before anyone tried to stop me. My heart

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 69: I Have My Reason

Marceline’s POVI stood quietly at the edge of the beach, staring at the dark waves rolling in and out like my thoughts — restless, endless, and loud. The wind brushed against my face, lifting strands of my hair, and the scent of salt filled my lungs. Yet, I felt nothing. My heart was still heavy from what had just happened at Dominic’s house."Divorce him… I love you. I want you for myself."I closed my eyes and let out a shaky breath. It was supposed to be a simple visit — a normal visit that would help me relax and forget about Philip and the news of Anastasia’s pregnancy. But instead, I had walked straight into a storm I wasn’t prepared for. Now, my emotions were messed up.I wrapped my arms around myself, staring blankly at the endless stretch of sea. The world felt too quiet, and for once, I wished it wasn’t. I wished there was noise, something loud enough to drown the sound of my own thoughts.I wanted to divorce Philip. I truly did. After everything he did — the betrayal, the

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 68: Please Accept Philip Divorce

Marceline’s POVThe moment the iron gates of Dominic’s mansion swung open, my heart began to beat faster. I never thought I would be meeting him at his place today.Earlier at Celesta’s house, Celesta and I were still talking when I received his text message.“How is your weekend going?” he had written.I replied, “It’s going well, how about yours?”Even though my day had already been ruined by Philip and his mistress. Then his next message came in and made my heart skip a beat.“Just home. I miss you so much. I wish you were here with me.”I had stared at the message for a while, wondering if I should go. Something inside me said he wasn’t okay. My instinct told me he was feeling down, so I asked for his address. He sent it, and that was how I ended up here.It took me almost ten minutes to drive from the gate to the main building. As I got closer, I saw Dominic standing at the entrance with his hands tucked into his pockets. He was dressed casually—just a simple shirt and trousers.

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 67: The Fear Of Marceline Leaving

Philip’s POVI walked out of the restaurant, my chest burning and my breath heavy. My hands were trembling as I reached for my car keys. I didn’t even know where I was going, but I needed to find Marceline. The way she looked at me and said “congratulations” back there… it broke me completely.“What have I done to myself?” I cursed under my breath as I slammed the car door and started the engine. My head was pounding. Anastasia’s words echoed in my mind — that the news of her pregnancy would finally make Marceline agree to the divorce.I knew Marceline hadn’t agreed to it all this time because of Roman. But now, things were different. I was having a child outside our marriage.I picked up my phone and dialed her number. Once. Twice. Then again. Each time, the same response came through:“The number you are trying to reach is not available at the moment…”The robotic voice made my chest tighten even more.I drove out of the restaurant at full speed, my heart racing faster than the car.

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 66: Get Rid Of That Thing

Anastasia’s POVMy cheek burned. The sting from Celesta’s slap was still fresh, spreading heat across my face as I sat on the chair, still in the restaurant. I could feel every pair of eyes on me, but I didn’t care.“How dare she touch me! Who does she think she is?” I cursed bitterly.I had always hated Celesta. She always thought highly of herself, acting so proud just because she came from a wealthy family.I turned sharply toward Philip. He was still seated, his head lowered, his hands gripping the edge of the table. He hadn’t said a single word since Marceline and Celesta left. It was as if his soul had left his body. I scorned silently. All of us meeting here wasn’t a coincidence ... I had planned it. I happened to see Marceline’s car drive into this restaurant earlier while I was returning from the hospital, where I had just gotten my pregnancy result. I had quickly texted Philip to meet me here.I wanted to break the news to Marceline myself, right in front of Philip. But I ne

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 65: Her Nerve Is Unmatched

Marceline’s POV“I still can’t believe that witch said that to our faces!” Celesta’s voice rang across the living room. Her tone was sharp, trembling with anger as she paced back and forth. “How can someone be that shameless?”I sat quietly on the couch, my hands folded on my lap, watching her move like a storm that couldn’t settle. Her face was red with fury, her hair slightly messy from how often she had run her hands through it. She was angry for me ...more than I could ever be for myself.I chuckled in my mind at that. She had insisted I come home with her, thinking I would go back to my house and cry over it.“Did you see the nerve she had? Talking about being pregnant and smiling while rubbing her stomach!” Celesta snapped again. “Ugh… this is making me sick. I’m losing my mind!” she screamed angrily. Her voice echoed through the living room. I breathed out, remembering the scene again. Truly, Anastasia’s nerve was unmatched.... the way she stood there and said she was pregnant

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 64: We Are Expecting A Baby

Marceline’s POVCelesta and I had just finished our meal in the private room upstairs and were heading down to go home.Just like always, I had picked her up from the airport that morning. She had just returned from one of her business trips outside the city.“I miss those days when I didn’t have to travel so often,” Celesta said tiredly.I smiled softly. “Then you should quit work and become a sit-at-home mom.”She scoffed and rolled her eyes in irritation. She had always hated that phrase sit-at-home mom or housewife. We both laughed lightly, but our steps slowed as we got to the last stair.There...right in front of us...was Philip and Anastasia.Philip’s eyes widened the moment he saw me, his face turning pale like he had just seen a ghost. Celesta quickly looked at me, her expression worried. I smiled faintly and gave her a small nod.“Marceline,” Philip called, his voice shaky as he stood up in panic.I let out a quiet, mocking laugh in my head and moved my eyes away from him. F
