Aria brought Bart out to an open field set up with a target, a bow and arrow.

“Didn’t think this would be your kind of thing. You handle yourself like a pro with a gun,” he observed.

“It’s not. I may be an ace with a pistol, but I suck at archery,” she answered.

He gave her a suspicious look.

“Bullshit.”

“It’s the truth, I swear. Teach me? You’re obviously an excellent shot.”

He laughed. A terrible, horrible thought went through his head. Bart wished that he’d never sat down next to the crying girl in that playground. He wasn’t even allowed to be there. His mother took pity on him and snuck him out of the house every now and then so that he wouldn’t grow up “too much of a prince” as she put it. Strictly speaking, as far as his father was concerned, Bart Arden never left the residence for anything until he went off to boarding school. For the first time in his life, he wished it was the truth. That the first woman he met was the one in front of him, the one that was so taken with

I tried to be everything she needed. Gentle but passionate. Generous and considerate. I kept looking at her, as though to ask her if she was sure. And she appeared to be, but by the time I pulled my pants down, she must have been half asleep already. Because when next I knew it, I felt her body go limp against mine and gave a short laugh. She was lying under me, nothing but panties on with her brief clad fiancé hovering over her.My head cleared quickly. I was an idiot. It never should've gone this far. As I pulled the covers over her, I couldn't help getting in next to her. Frustration and pure lust rushed through me as I took her into my arms, but I stayed anyway. She’d be mortified in the morning and I didn't want it to be without me next to her. So I stayed to reassure her. This might have to be the last time I brought her to bed for a while, though. At the palace, Caines, Terres Somnia (Aaron)Aria and I had been making eyes at each other for three days straight. She flirted re

December 3rd, 2019Caines, Terres Somnia (Bart) CC's birthday was coming up. She had only recently started getting her dress ready for her birthday and planning for the next fashion show. I was glad to see it. The queen's absence finally seemed to be weighing on her less. CC even applied for fashion school next year. I liked watching my fiancée. Shortly after we got engaged, I got myself a very comfortable beanbag chair that I placed in her office. She complained that she didn't need a babysitter; I swore that I just needed somewhere to study. And I did study. I got through tons of material during my time at the fashion house. Did it take me twice as long as usual because I spent half of the time watching her work? Yes, but she didn't need to know that. It might not be sensible that it pleased me so much just to watch her, but then there was a time when I would have given anything just to lay eyes on her. A time when they were forbidden. Even now, our families thought that we were

Ethan’s mouth broke out into a goofy grin as he picked her up and gave her a similar greeting to the one I had received. “Aria!” he yelled, setting her down with a thump before taking her hand and presenting her to me.“Ria, Barry. Barry, Ria. My sister, who is also a princess,” Ethan said, winking at me. “He’s never subtle, is he?” Aria said with a giggle as she held out her hand for me to shake.“No, he really isn’t,” I said, taking Aria's hand.I was about to shake her hand, but then thought better of it. My lips touched the back of her hand. She pulled back her hand with force, hurt flashing in her eyes again. Ethan rolled his eyes, took her hand and put it back in mine.“Good! I’m glad you’re both aware. Now do my bidding and dance!” Ethan ordered.Aria was about to pull her hand away again when I pulled her into my arms. “It’s just a dance,” I said, stroking the vivid, red hair flowing down her back.Aria's small smile didn’t make my heart hurt as she put her head down on my ch

2017, June 4thCaines, Terres Somnia (Bart) Another insufferable ball. The excuse for it?It was my birthday. As far as the duties of an Arden go, I would rather be sitting in my room, preparing for midterms. My father, Duke Arden, took me around the room to meet with the nobles in attendance. Their dealings with us were drilled into my head, as though I weren't already aware of them all. I would have given many things to not endure this night.Grievances aside, there was one thing that I looked forward to about tonight. I might get to see Caroline. Things between our families were still very unstable. I hadn't seen CC since the last time she came home from boarding school.Unknown to King Henry, electing to spend the year abroad was step one in shunning his wishes for her. She intended to attend fashion school next year.I didn't know if my birthday was a good enough reason to bring her home right before midterms.Relief washed over me as my mother approached with a friend in tow.“

(Imperium, Warlanda) Aaron didn't know whose car he was in or where the hell he was going. All he knew was that he had to talk to her, had to not have blown his chance with her just because things got a little confusing between him and Keira. He had been driving for a good half an hour before he finally got through to her. "Em?" "Hey Ronnie! I'm at Fortunae and I'm super drunk! You're coming, aren't you Ron?" Of course he wasn't, because he was in another damn country! Her brain remembered this a second too late. Back in the day, Emily never had to think about other women. Even though there were plenty of them, when she'd call, he'd show and make her every wish reality. How long had he been waiting for one of these calls? Emily didn't make these types of calls anymore, didn't ask for his help anymore. Maybe she just didn't make them to him anymore. He missed the drunken mess he wasn't going to be carrying to bed tonight. Keira had distracted him, but now the empty feeling from bei

Still too close. She was still right in front of him and Emily wasn't. His brand new girlfriend was thousands of miles away and his ex was in his arms. Why did he bring her out here again? At least when they were standing around accepting congratulations from people, he could tune it out and freak out about how to explain himself to Emily. He was in deep shit, a prisoner to the memories between them. Stop doing the wrong thing. Just let her go. Walk away. "Why did you propose when I specifically said to just walk with me? The rumour itself was enough to do the job, but you know that. So why propose?" "Kid had to bloody have Irises and Lavender. I mean what are the damn chances?!" Keira laughed. He was sweating bullets, trying to do the right thing and she adored that, but she loved bad Aaron. The one who did stupid shit like that without thinking. Emily probably loved bad Aaron too. Should she give him back? Was it in her power to? His words from their time together on the plane we
