The Governor's Son Chapter 1
THE MOMENT when Don Angelito landed on NAIA terminal four, he knew that his life would never be the same because everything is messy since he's in the ripen age for his father's uncontrollable desires.
His father is calling as he answers it right away while rolling his luggage.
"Yes, Papá?"
"Are you now in Manila?" he inquires, assuring he landed. Angelito sighed deeply-- releasing his dreadful voice.
"Of course, I am here. The flight had an hour delay. I'm on my way to my new apartment," he responded confidently because it's the truth.
"Magnifico, enjoy your stay and think a million times before you apply for Juris Doctor; you are my high hope." Don Pablo Marquez constantly reminds Angelito of his importance even though the truth is so bitter to swallow.
His father gasped some air before uttering the next word, "I have another request for you—"
Angelito cannot take it anymore because something inside him makes his body palpitate whenever Don Pablo opens his mouth. "Papá…" he breathes slowly but profoundly. "Fine, let me know."
Don Pablo wickedly chuckles on the line since his only Hijo can't reject his request.
"That's my boy. I will send your allowance—"
"I want thirty million on my account," he interrupts his speaking.
"I'm generous enough to add it ... if you do your work properly. If someone witnesses, make them your substitute. You cannot let me down because I just won the election this year, do you understand?"
Don Angelito leans his back on the cold metal beside the exit.
"I always understand, Papá," he exclaimed in desperation that their conversation would end here right now.
"Take care, mi Hijo." Don Pablo cheers him up as he hangs up the line. The handsome Don puffs a long heavy breath. Time is money for Angelito because he must be the one to stand out in this world full of unlawful people-- even the reality makes him tracing the path of unrighteousness.
He takes a taxi to bring him to Monumento, where his new apartment is located. However, he instantly regretted taking a cab because the city traffic was such a pain in his ass.
For almost two hours, he finally stepped on the new condominium.
"Hello, my pleasure to meet you. I am Angelito Marquez. Can you show me my new place?" he inquired to the front office.
"Oh… good afternoon, sir. My pleasure to meet you too. Yes, your room is on the second floor by the instruction of Don Pablo Marquez. Do you mind if I assist you to your room?" Diana asked him, but Angelito refused her offer.
"Just give me the key. I need to rest," he retorted in annoyance: such a handsome but fierce type of man.
"Please dial zero, sir, if you want me to assist you. Thank you."
The hallway is hushed, like what he wants his life to be. He wants to escape from his father's ruling. Nevertheless, he has three cute sisters to be taken care of.
Angelito's mother died when giving birth to him. It's the safest reason why Don Pablo decided to find another woman, but she also doesn't care about his feelings and only benefits his money.... His mother was a haciendera in Espanya.
His grandparents transferred all his mother's wealth to his name, but his father didn't want to live in Madrid. They buy so many lands in Aklan to have plenty of plantations and graves for their enemies.
Upon opening the door, Don Angelito wears a radiant smile when gazing at his favourite plant. His father sure knows what he likes in life.
He is a fan of coffee, and this modified endangered bonsai Arabica coffee plant that he likes the most makes his heart warm. Don Angelito De Silva Marquez knows that being with this plant is innocuous because he owns a coffee plantation in the country.
"Such a lovely day," he whispered to himself when looking at the picturesque cityscape—his ringtone chimes when Dennis sends a message.
From: Dennis
[Are you nowhere? We still have three months before the enrolment. Sunshine and I have already applied. How about you?]
Angelito throws his phone on the soft eiderdown duvet before taking off his shoes.
To: Dennis
[Just arrived. I will catch up; you always leave me behind!]
His friend barely chuckles when he responds as if he is all alone his whole life.
From: Dennis
[We will go to the concert. How about you? Please send us your location so we can see your new apartment.]
Don Angelito doesn't have the craving to respond to his messages. He tries to concentrate not until his father's attorney… Ms Barbie Geronimo emails a profile.
He blinks twice when looking at the screen of his phone. A while ago, she called.
"Did you receive it?" she asked, reassuring her email.
"Yeah, I have," he coldly responded because she destroyed his peace of mind.
"You're always cold even with your father. I am transferring half of the money to you. Take care of that treacherous auditor. He takes the money without doing his job properly, and now he wants to bring the governor down." She paused.
"The paper is now pending in the bureau of internal revenues. My friend said he exposed your father's hidden wealth and avoidance in taxation. If that case opens again, all your bank accounts will be freeze. Silence him, I trust you with this one—"
"Do you have any other trace where I can find him?" he cuts her words because she is talking too much. Angelito doesn't want a wavy road ahead.
"In the concern at Mall of Asia. He lives in Baclaran, and typically he walks by himself when going home even it's kinda far."
Angelito's heart is pounding when looking at his face. He is big and a single wrong move—his name will be all over the news.
"What if I failed?" He's pessimistic that he needs a backup plan.
Attorney Barbie laughs on the line, insulting his fear. "What's the sense I am here? However, when you make a wrong move, find someone as your substitute in jail. You're intelligent enough to escape, aren't you, Don Angelito?"
Her voice always gives him anxiety. Angelito never wants to let his family in vain. He tries to pamper himself to be valiant.
"Copy. I will hang up," he excuses himself and turns his phone off. He tries to calm down, but he needs to be ready for his next mission.
When he opened his luggage, transporting his essentials to their designated storage, Angelito dropped a tiny bottle. It caught his attention as he picked it up on the floor.
It's a bottle of Dioxin. He blinks twice when realizing he can put this on his drink without his knowledge at the concert. He smiles and then plans something soft and merciful.
DAYS AFTER his transfer, his two best friends Sunshine and Dennis, arrive in front of his apartment—getting ready for the concert.
Sunshine instantly notices his gloomy face. "Are you sick?" she asked Angelito, but the handsome Don smiles swiftly with his hypnotizing charisma.
"No! I'm just too excited. However, I will not join you for too long—"
Dennis encircles his hand on his neck. "Is it because your father wants something from you again?"
A moment of deaf silence for Angelito. Sunshine squeezes his fleshy cheeks before they go inside the taxi. He was slap by the truth again, making him wordless.
"Don't pressure yourself. You're an attorney… and you are cognizant about how to play dirty games," she whispers to make him calm down. She is right because his two long friends will not stay if they know already that he is an undercover spy and killer under his father's ruling.
When they arrived at the concert, the music was so loud, and the crowd was bustling with different types of people but united with music. Sunshine and Dennis are courting each other, which makes Angelito awkward.
Angelito wears his black coat and cap with his shades as an excuse for the dancing laser lights. His aura and features are so alluring to watch, and even some are glimpsing in his direction. Attorney Barbie says they are at the VIP table near in front of the stage.
Nonetheless, the handsome Don wants to have some enjoyment before he tries to punish someone.
"AREN'T YOU GONNA JOIN US, HUH?!" Dennis shouts at him; however, his shout is like a whisper in the banging music. Angelito responded, nodding his head, "I WILL!"
He tries to enjoy it, but Dennis and Sunshine are dumbfounded when their friend disappears in the crowd. Angelito meets with Attorney Barbie's friend backstage.
"Are you the governor's son?" the man asked him while lighting up his cigarette and fixing his gaze at his handsome face.
"Yes, I am…." He answers with anxiousness.
"Then you are my second boss. Don Pablo instructed me to take care of him—"
"Don't be ridiculous! I will take care of him. Put this on his drink," he instructed as the man got a small powder sachet.
"Is this a drug?" he asked, assuring his safety.
"It's Dioxin… put that amount under your watch and discreetly pour on his drink."
The man cannot understand what he meant. "After?"
Angelito chuckles. "That amount is enough to stop his heartbeat in almost two hours, no trace of violence. My job will be clear," he explains as the man leaves him behind.
A moment later, Dennis sees him trying to plough the crowd. Dennis gives him a bottle of beer, and out of his anxiousness and doubt about that man's action—he drinks it straight.
Sunshine cheers him up until they keep on dancing to the music at this open ground concert. Every beat is the same as loud as his heart beating when observing the drunk auditor.
The crowd jumps in the beat, but Angelito joins in, gazing at his target in a discreet look. Luckily, Altos Briones is now leaving. Attorney Barbie signals him to follow the man.
Dennis and Sunshine are confused again, where their friend goes. The moment when Don Angelito exited, an innocent boy was left behind by his friend met online.
He tried to scan his environment, but he was all alone to go home. He knows the way home, but when he sees Angelito, he follows the governor's son.
The target auditor is having a hard time breathing as he goes up to the overpass. Angelito follows him as he keeps on holding on to the cold and rusty railing.
"Ohh…." The auditor grunts when he cannot understand how he feels after drinking an hour and a half. Luckily, there are few people around because of the big event happening nearby.
Angelito approaches him with a taser gun hidden under his coat enough to make him stay and wait until his heartbeat stops in no time. This means his work will be sleekly accomplish.
"Are you alright, Mr?" he tries to be nice, but the man is meant to answer.
"Get away from me!" he shouts and turns out to be aggressive because of the effect of the drug inside his body.
"I-I'm trying to help you, mister—"
"Are you one of them?!" he shouts as Angelito's facial expression turns overjoyed by his words because his memory is keen on details
"Who—"The auditor forcefully take off his hand on his shoulder. It runs out, and he is aggressive in the security camera's lens.
"D-Don't lie! You are the governor's son!" he screams, but no one is taking the bridge in this late hour—afraid of holdapping. Even in the influence of drugs, his memory is sharp.
An arrogant smile appears on his face. "You're senses are keen. How about you apologize for what did you do?"
The man instantly fears his cold voice and villainous aura. He is panting while clutching his hands on the stern railing and his chest.
"DIE!" he shouts and grabs his shoulder. Angelito is scared to fall. That's why he zaps his taser gun on his chest. The auditor steps backwards as he struggles to support his heavy body, and Angelito tries to talk to him.
"If you fall from this high bridge…. You may now rest in peace, Mr Altos." He steps like trying to convince him, but the Dioxin takes in effect.
Altos' grip loosens as his heavy body and frail feet makes him outbalance. He falls from the overpass. His head cracked open on the cold highway as his blood ran through the asphalt road in the late night.
Don Angelito acts like he is confused about why he falls from the bridge when the security camera is in his direction. However, his body is quivering, but his mind is celebrating!
He runs towards the other side, avoiding the camera, but someone is petrified when looking at him. Someone witnessed his crime!
"Y-You're the reason why he fell!" a cute innocent boy stutteringly accuses him. Angelito's eyes widen as if they would pop out in total confusion!
The boy ran down; he was perplexed. Nevertheless, he needs to silence him too. Angelito noticed many people were surrounding the dead body.
Many are murmuring, and they see there's a man before the auditor falls. His anxiety devours him, but when he catches the innocent boy.
His face is stunned. His body shudders in fear in his presence.
"Y-You kill him—"
Angelito covers his mouth with the order of his anxious mind and heart. He grabs him in the dark; he memorizes his facial feature for a sketch.
"What did you see?" he whispers with a shaky breath because having an eyewitness is another disparate story.
The innocent boy cries when Angelito points the teeth of his taser gun on his phallus.
"You're cute, but do you want me to electrocute your balls, huh?"
"N-No, p-please," he begs for his life with a shaking head as Angelito makes his handsome face comes closer, even in the dim. He can barely see his pale skin and attractive chocolate eyes.
"How can I trust you that you will not tell this to anyone—"
"Let me go! My mom is waiting for me—"Angelito pushes him with his taser gun—locking his body in his hand. Denver is suffocating as his nails are burying in Angelito's hand.
"Take off your clothes," he whispered with a hand caressing his face like a psychotic maniac waiting for his ideas to execute.
"W-Why—"He pushes him again as they exchanges their breathe and trying to fit in this dark dead end.
"I will make you my substitute," he said while taking off his coat. His muscular body is astounding even in a dark place like this. The police arrive, and Angelito makes it quick.
"I don't want—"
He thumps him on the wall-- waking the hell out of Denver. "Give me your phone," he ordered in a terrifying voice.
"H-Here!" he swiftly gives it to him, and Angelito feels his cold and shuddering hands. He gets his contact and essential details for a backup.
"Faster!" he grunts while glaring at him. "So you're Denver Nervar. Don't worry, and I will defend you at all cost."
When Don Angelito says it, the innocent boy finishes wearing his cloth to swap them.
"H-How?!" he cries out of his terror. Don Angelito grabs him—making his face closer as if they will kiss each other.
"You're the perfect substitute—"Denver looks in the other direction,
"—Don't worry, I'm a lawyer. I will defend you as long as you follow my instructions. Now leave," he says without any emotions written in his ashy eyes.
Without any hesitations, Denver runs as fast as he can! He is so scared for his life because his online friend left him behind, and now he is in big trouble.
Don Angelito comes out from the dark and gets a stick of cigarette from a sidewalk vendor.
"What happened here?" he innocently asked when looking at the dead body of the auditor.
The old man responded, "he falls from the bridge. The police are now searching for that man he was arguing with at the overpass."
The Governor's Son Chapter 2 DENVER IS always uneasy when Angelito says he will defend him if ever he would be taken by the police. His mother is at work at a nearby factory of goods. The class will start in August, that's why they move as soon as possible to the metro to get a slot for him in the civil engineering department. Two days after that incident happened… the news is all over with the footage of Angelito—convincing the public masses that he doesn't intentionally push the man. Despite this, he tries to help him, but he falls right into the highway. He hides those clothes inside the cabinet to avoid being caught by his mother. Upon going inside the gate where they rent for a living, Don Angelito is with Attorney Barbie inside a Jeep. The governor's son is blissful since the police now serve a warrant, and they will take him to custody any time in this scorching afternoon. "Poor boy, he's so cute and innocent, Ang
The Governor's Son Chapter 3 THE TRIAL begins after days of preparation. All eyes are on Denver's case. His mother and Angelito are the only ones present to witness his judgement in the lower court. They don't have any relatives here in the metro because Maxine raised him herself when his father died. Altos' family is on the other side of the court. His wife is silent with their little child. Denver can feel the pressure when sitting at the accused seat. He could feel the pressure in between his legs. He wants to urinate in his pants out of his nervousness. The judge opens the case as they discuss the facts of Denver's case. It took them half an hour before starting the trial. He finds himself lonely and scared of what will society think about him. In his early and innocent age, he must not in here. However, that badass Don threatens him so severely. The clerk stands up firm when looking at Angelito. His heart is also pumping fa
The Governor's Son Chapter 4 DON ANGELITO is thrilled when realizing the cute boy is lying about his oath. He cannot understand himself when his body is heating in anger. He is biting his lower lip when it's been two days when inspector Lotus Medina confesses. He opens his cabinet, and a small secret closet opens to reveal his gun. While holding it—Angelito feels the urge to shoot him dead in front of their gate in the middle of the night. However, there is a particular part inside him, which doesn't want to hurt Denver. He is confused, putting back the gun and closing the secret closet. Why did I become like this?Angelito asked himself what was going on. He breathes so deep as he gets his jacket and drives his jeep up to the police station. Upon
The Governor's Son Chapter 5 "YOU DID NOT dispose the cute boy, even he dumped you?" Dennis laughingly asked his best friend that quiet in a corner. Angelito is not expecting him to come in a week or two. "Yeah… if you look in his eyes—begging for mercy—" His friend cuts him off. "You're defying your scary father! Oh my goodness, I don't want to see his eyes when angry," Dennis utters in disgrace of his father's true nature. Angelito keeps on stirring the coffee while watching at his endangered bonsai. There's a wide world for him if he is not tied up in his father's filthy business. Maybe he will be going to Spain and starting a winery or coffee business. He loves to watch his plants grow well. "Maybe? In no time, inspector Medina will clean a mess or maybe father's minion to move to protect me—without a trace, I'm innocent," he pleaded as Dennis sips his coffee because it's too hot like the words coming out from his mouth.
The Governor's Son Chapter 6 In the last two days, Denver panicky goes home and then lock the door. He is so anxious about the one written on his back. He takes off his cloth to go against the mirror. He sees his reflection, but the letters are tiny to see in this awkward view. Denver brilliantly set a timer on his phone and positioned himself at a good angle to capture the notes on his back. He takes several photos before getting a good-to-go image. Denver scribbles it on paper until he writes down the last letter of his address. It's Station Apartment not far away from the LRT station. He blinks twice when absorbing that his place is just one ride from his home. "What he wants to say?! I will not surrender to send him into jail!" he is still angry with Angelito in every way, but when he is with him—Denver cannot utter a single word because of his charismatic appearance. He called him cutie pie while inside a car, but h
The Governor’s Son Chapter 7 DENVER GOES HOME scared for his life. He never opens the heavy bag he carried all along… he is afraid this has a bomb inside or something scarier. The bus stopped when he requested to stopover. He runs as fast as he can to go home. It’s nighttime, and his mother is undoubtedly waiting inside. Denver opens the gate—holding his neck. His stomach is twisting when he remembers how did Angelito puts the gun inside his mouth. He is crying when going inside their home. Maxine halted her footsteps when seeing him crying at the door. She is holding a plate of rice for their dinner—her excitement to see her only son quickly changes into despair. “Son!” she screams and puts the plate on the table. Denver’s ailing knees make him fall on the floor in extreme trauma and terror. “Mama! Mama, let’s leave this place!” he is panicking when saying those words. Maxine closed the door, and his son was so pale—like a bloo
The Governor's Son Chapter 8 MAXINE IS SO ANGRY when looking at his son. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO GET YOURSELF INTO TROUBLE!" Denver keeps on crying in front of his mother. He is sobbing like a baby when he cannot do anything to calm her down. She's been so protective when his father died. "We still don't get the justice for your dad and now… you're the one in line for having such injustice! I will not accept this—" "Mama! I don't want trouble anymore. Please let us settle this… A-Angelito and I agreed—" She slaps her face. "I'm still your mother! The decision is for me to keep and fight for your rights." She is so eager to fight for his son's rights. He is so afraid of his mother because she doesn't know Angelito's personality.
The Governor's Son Chapter 9 "SO…. DO YOU have any plans this coming afternoon?" Sunshine inquires as they're walking past the road inside the University of the Philippines, Diliman campus. Angelito sighed. "Let's go at a bar? I want to drink—" "You must not, don't you remember; you have a summon to deal with maybe tomorrow or the other day," Dennis reminds his friend, but he is silently walking with his papers. Angelito is uneasy; thus, he doesn't want to show it to his friend. Sunshine smiles at him when she stops in his front. "Come on, I will support you, but we need to drink moderately because like Dennis said… that brat don't want to let you go," she teases, and he blushes. Don Angelito smiles too wh
