Chapter 42

Aurora’s POV

I woke up to a loud noise, my heart skipping a beat. Cassidy was already standing over me, gently shaking my shoulder.

“Come on, get ready,” she said as a maid entered the room, carrying a clean, ancient-looking dress and placing it neatly on the bed.

Cassidy pointed toward a side door. “The bath is through there.”

I dragged myself up, still half-asleep, and opened the door to the bathroom. The sight made me pause.

It looked like a wooden hot tub built into the floor, steam rising from it with a faint herbal scent that was strangely soothing. “How exactly am I supposed to bathe in this thing?” I muttered under my breath. “Guess I’ll figure it out.”

I slipped out of my clothes and lowered myself into the warm water. It smelled faintly of flowers and something sharper, maybe mint, and I had to admit—it was nice. For a moment, I almost forgot I was in some strange supernatural castle.

When I was done, I stood up and reached for a towel… except ther

Chapter 43 Liam’s POV I sat at the long dining table with Lucious, my younger brother, eating in silence. My thoughts were elsewhere—until I caught sight of her. Aurora. She walked in with Cassidy at her side, dressed in one of the ancient gowns of our people. It fit her well. Too well. The way the fabric draped over her, the way her hair was neatly pulled back—she almost looked like she belonged here. “She’s beautiful,” Lucious whispered, leaning toward me with a teasing grin. “If I were you, I’d—” “Shut up,” I snapped under my breath, glaring at him. Lucious just chuckled, unfazed as always. Aurora and Cassidy approached and sat down opposite us. Cassidy greeted me casually, as if I weren’t the Alpha Prince, and I answered her with a curt nod. Aurora, however, received my brother’s full attention. “Hi,” Lucious said warmly, smiling at her. “You must be Aurora.” She returned his smile, her voice soft but steady. “Yes, I am. And you are…?” “Lucious. Liam’s brother,”

  • The Half-Life of a Werewolf   Warm Dream

Chapter 41 Aurora’s POV “You should rest now,” Cassidy said gently, moving toward the door. “Tomorrow, I’ll show you around and explain things properly.” I nodded, though my mind was racing too much to even think about sleep. After she left, the silence of the chamber pressed in on me. I lay back on the bed, staring at the carved ceiling above me, trying to make sense of how my life had turned so strange, so fast. I missed Grandma. The ache in my chest reminded me of how far away she was, and how much I hated leaving her alone. And then there was my father—who had abandoned me. My mother—who had died giving me life. The thought made my throat tighten. I sat up suddenly and walked to the ancient window. It was tall, arched, framed with stone, and heavy drapes hung loosely on either side. I pushed them apart and looked out. The view took my breath away. The night stretched over a land that shimmered with faint silver light, the trees standing tall like ancient guardians. The s

Chapter 40 Aurora’s POV Cassidy’s lips curved into a small smile, but her eyes stayed sharp, unreadable. “You’re right. You should be at the Silver Covenant pack… but the world doesn’t always give us what we’re owed.” I frowned. “What does that even mean?” “You’ve stepped into the heart of power here,” Cassidy continued, ignoring my question. “The prince… Liam… he’s not angry just because of you. His anger is deeper, older, tied to things you don’t yet know. Your arrival here only scratched the surface.” I clenched my fists. “Then tell me. I deserve to know what’s going on.” Cassidy tilted her head, studying me like I was a puzzle she wasn’t sure she should solve. “Answers can be weapons, Aurora. At the wrong moment, they can destroy you. For now, all you need to understand is this: you’re not safe everywhere. Not here, not in the Silver Covenant, not anywhere—not yet.” Her words sent a chill down my spine. “Then why am I here?” I whispered. Cassidy’s expression soft

Chapter 39 Aurora’s POV “How can you just let him talk to you that way?” I snapped, turning to Oliver, still fuming. He lowered his head. “He’s the Prince Alpha here. Besides… I’m an omega. We don’t get treated right in this place.” I sighed, frustrated. “My grandma told me about this—she said my dad explained it to her from my mum. I know omegas aren’t as strong, but that doesn’t mean you’re worthless. You still matter. You might even be better at some things than them!” Oliver gave me a small, tired smile, but I wasn’t done. “That guy—ugh. He’s so rude. So arrogant. And honestly? All that good physique, that perfect face? Completely wasted with manners like that.” I crossed my arms, muttering, “What a shame.” Oliver chuckled quietly, a real laugh that softened his tired expression. “You’re going to get yourself into trouble with that tongue of yours.” I tilted my chin, unbothered. “Then let them try.” But his laughter faded, replaced by seriousness. He stepped cl

  • The Half-Life of a Werewolf   My Infuriating Mate

Chapter 38 Liam’s POV “Your mate is here, Liam. I can sense her. A new arrival—and she’s with Oliver,” Cassidy said, her tone calm but certain. I froze. “What?” My voice came out sharp, disbelieving. “I didn’t order Oliver to bring her here yet.” Heat rushed through me as I started pacing, my jaw tight. “That omega… he’s so damn foolish. Always acting on impulse, never listening to orders.” I grabbed a nearby guard and barked, “Tell the gate guards to let them through when they arrive.” Cassidy leaned lazily against the window, watching me with that irritating little smile. “You should calm down before you explode. The poor floorboards don’t deserve your temper.” “Calm down?” I snapped, my voice echoing against the stone walls. “I don’t want her here, Cassidy. I don’t want her anywhere near me.” Cassidy arched an eyebrow, clearly amused by my fury. “And yet, here she comes. Maybe fate doesn’t care what you want, Liam.” I growled low, a warning, but she only smirked.
