Chapter 109

Author: Glazed Snow
What? He was sending Wendy to school where?

Clavendale University?

Was he out of his mind?!

Clavendale University was one of the top schools in the country—what right did Wendy have to go there?

Jessica's expression shifted as she processed this. "Stanley, Wendy dropped out of school when she was 16. She came from the countryside. The only thing she knows is how to seduce men. How does someone like her even have the right to go to Clavendale University?"

Stanley looked at Jessica without saying a word.

His gaze was firm and resolute, clearly indicating there was no room for negotiation on this. His decision to send Wendy to Clavendale University was final.

Jessica was quick to catch on. The two of them had just started to patch things up, and she wasn't about to start a fight with Stanley now.

Besides, someone like Wendy would only make a fool of herself by going to Clavendale University. Eventually, Stanley would grow more and more tired of her.

Is Stanley actually a man are a boy how could he be so easy to manipulate. I know he see the wrong she does but he condones it. I don’t see how you can marry someone so devious that girl is a bad seed and frankly Wendy is too good for the both of them. I know Wendy loves him but let him go.

Sierra's eyes were glued to Halsey. She watched as Halsey opened her mouth and drank the chicken soup.Halsey had drunk the poisoned soup!A huge weight lifted off Sierra's chest. She leaned against the wall, gasping for air, her eyes shining with triumph. After all this struggle, she had finally defeated Halsey! She glanced back at the hospital room. Halsey had finished the entire bowl of soup. Forget a bowl—even a sip of the poisoned soup could be fatal. Sierra waited eagerly for the moment Halsey would succumb.Zada took back the empty bowl. "Good job. You finished the soup. Now lie down and get some rest."Halsey nodded. "Okay."Suddenly, she clutched her stomach, her face going pale.Zada's expression shifted to concern. "What's wrong?"Halsey winced in pain. "My stomach…it hurts so much… Why does it hurt like this… It really hurts…"Panic surged through Zada. "You don't look so good. I'll call a doctor. Doctor! Someone get a doctor!"Almost immediately, a team of do

Zada agreed to take Sierra to the hospital.Sierra immediately smiled. "Thanks, you're the best! The three of us will always be best friends!""If you really wanna be friends with Halsey again, you should clear things up with the reporters about you and Mr. Lane," Zada said.Sierra fell silent. Not this again.Zada went on, "Why not do it tomorrow? Go to the press tomorrow and set the record straight. Then Halsey and Mr. Lane can make up."Sierra was annoyed with Zada, but she played along. Once Zada's soup got Halsey, and Zada ended up in jail, Sierra would end their friendship."Okay," Sierra said with a smile. "I'll clear it up with the reporters tomorrow."Zada returned the smile. "Great. On behalf of Halsey, thank you.""No need to thank me. Nothing ever happened between me and Mr. Lane, anyway.""Alright, let's go to the hospital."-When they got to the hospital. Zada said to Sierra, "Wait outside the room. I'll go in myself."Sierra nodded and watched Zada carry the

Zada nodded. "Yeah. I'll bring the soup to the hospital now so Halsey can have it while it's hot."Sierra reached out. "Let me help.""No, it's fine. I'll do it myself," Zada said, brushing her off.Sierra was frustrated. Zada wasn't giving her a chance to poison the soup. The little packet of powder was still in her pocket."What are you just standing there for? Go sit in the living room for a bit. I'll be quick," Zada said.Sierra was getting anxious. The soup was ready. If she didn't find a chance now, she'd lose this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"But I wanna do something for Halsey, too. Let me help," Sierra pressed, moving to grab the ladle from Zada. But Zada pushed her hand away. "Really, I don't need help. You'll only get in the way."Sierra fell silent. What could she do now? Then, Zada suddenly said, "Huh, where's the thermos? I remember I left it here.""You can't find the thermos?" Sierra asked, trying to sound casual."Yeah, I put it on the coffee table earli

Halsey nodded. "Okay."Zada turned and walked out.Sierra, standing by the door, immediately slipped into the corner, watching Zada leave her line of sight. She crept back to the doorway and looked inside at Halsey. Halsey's head was bowed, her expression heavy. She was no longer the sparkling, pampered heiress everyone adored. Sierra felt a thrill of satisfaction. In truth, she had always been jealous of Halsey. Halsey had everything she wanted—beauty, attention, admiration. Sierra couldn't accept it. As she hid in the shadows, watching Halsey, her mind had already twisted into something dark and sick. Sierra wanted to take Halsey down, make her life miserable, and watch her suffer. She also wanted Halsey's man. She wanted to be Mrs. Lane. And now, the moment had come.Zada had gone back to make soup for Halsey. If Sierra could slip something into that soup, she could kill Halsey. And she had Zada, the perfect unwitting accomplice. Nobody would know it was her.Smiling

Sierra wouldn't clarify the matter, of course, but she couldn't explain herself to Zada either. After all, Zada was her strongest pawn, the one she needed to use to take down Halsey."I-I…" Sierra stammered, unable to finish her sentence.Just then, a gentle ringtone sounded. Someone was calling Zada.Zada pulled out her phone, and Sierra's sharp eyes immediately caught the caller ID. It was Halsey.Zada answered, "Hey, Halsey."Since Zada hadn't put the call on speaker, Sierra couldn't hear what Halsey was saying. Zada's expression instantly changed, and she jumped to her feet. "What did you say? You're in the hospital?"Halsey was in the hospital?Sierra's heart pounded in her chest."Okay. I'm coming right now." Zada hung up and started moving.Sierra grabbed her arm. "What's going on? Did something happen to Halsey?"Zada's face was serious. "She's been experiencing some pain in her abdomen today. She's already in the hospital, and I need to go see her.""I'll go wit

Zada was stunned. In that moment, it felt like the sky had fallen.Zada had genuinely trusted Sierra, never expecting that everything about Sierra was fake. Her face and her name were fake, and she had been using Zada all along to go after Halsey.Zada couldn't believe it. "So those three thugs really were sent by her! She planned this from the start, got close to me on purpose, and wanted to use me against you. It was all part of her scheme!"Halsey felt a flicker of relief. Zada wasn't completely lost—at least now, she'd woken up to the truth.Taking a sip of coffee, Halsey said, "Now that you think back on all the moments you spent with her, can't you start to see the clues? Something that's fake can never be real. No matter how convincing, there are always cracks."Zada thought back for a moment. Sierra had always been sneaky, and now, it all made sense."Sierra is way too cunning. If I hadn't run into those three thugs today, I can't imagine how long she would've kept deceiv
