Chapter 4 I Still Want to Be with You

"President Yan, please let go of me. We’re in public, and there are CCTV cameras around.” Senna forcibly removed herself from the man’s embrace. “How are you here? Were you following me?”

President Yan reluctantly stepped back, releasing his hold. “I’ve been here waiting to meet you. It’s good that you came here. Did your husband tell you I wanted to meet you here?”

“But that seems unlikely. Young Master Qin even told me to stay away from you. Is it just a coincidence you’re here? It seems we are destined.”

“Yes, you could say that. President Yan, I thought you’d give up on this relationship after hearing what he said.”

“How could I give up just because of his words? I’m Joseph Yan; my status isn’t inferior to his. I won’t give you up to him as long as you’re useful.” Joseph's arrogance flared.

“Yes, I don’t want you to give up either. Compared to him, I think it’s better to be with you. You’re a beneficial partner.”

“You must admit, I’m the perfect partner for you. Are you going to the studio? I can drive you.”

“No. I brought my car, and I have to go somewhere first. I need to leave now.”

“So soon? I still want to spend time with you. We haven’t seen each other in days. Don’t you miss me?”

“Mr. Yan, don’t take our relationship too seriously. I’ll meet you for dinner tonight.”

“Alright. I’ll choose the place.” A smile spread across Joseph's handsome face. Senna stepped away from President Yan. Before leaving, she glanced outside to ensure her husband’s car was gone.

“Then tell me the address now!”

“His office is at the law firm on X Street in District X.”

Seinna ended the call once she got the information she needed. She drove to the location mentioned. However, a problem arose, making it difficult to meet the person.

“It’s not like that; you’re overthinking things. How could I enjoy the first night with someone like Seinna Zhang? She’s not better than you.”

“Really? You’re good at winning hearts with flattery like that.” There was no sign of amusement on Evander’s lover’s face.

Evander carefully embraced her. Though her stomach was still flat, he didn’t want a careless hug to cause harm. “Dear, don’t be upset! You must keep your emotions in check for the sake of our unborn baby.”

“All you care about is this child? What about my feelings?”

“Why do you think that way? Of course, I care about you too. Don’t dwell on things that will make you feel bad.” Evander released the hug. His hands moved to her shoulders, and he looked straight at her.

“Don’t you trust me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you. I’m just afraid you’ll leave me because of your wife.” Belinda Chu, Evander’s lover, expressed her worry.

“That won’t happen. We didn’t even sleep in the same bed on our wedding night.”

“Really? You didn’t touch her at all?”

“Really.”

A smile appeared on Belinda’s lips. “Then why did you come in later than usual?” Her tone softened, and her angry expression eased.

“I was late because I had to deal with that woman to agree to the contract terms I proposed. Who would have thought that Miss Zhang would argue and waste time resolving the issue?”

“What did she object to?”

“She refused to fulfill the duties and have a child.”

“I see. You seem very eager to have a child with her. You looked upset when you mentioned it.” During pregnancy, a woman becomes more sensitive. Belinda was already like that before, and now it was worse. “I’m carrying your child; isn’t that enough?”

Evander sighed at his lover’s nature. “Belinda, it’s not about what I want. I have to fulfill my duty to continue the Qin family line according to the family’s standards. But you don’t have to worry; we agreed to adopt our child as mine and Seinna’s.”

“What? Did you suggest that? Evander, are you really going to discard me and separate me from my child? How can I be apart from my child?”

“That was Senna Zhang’s suggestion. You don’t have to worry—”

“She’s not satisfied with taking you but wants to take my child too? I won’t let her have my child!”

“Belinda, don’t interrupt me. I don’t like it when you’re rude and accuse without reason.” Evander struggled to keep his composure. He tried to keep his voice down.

“Evan, I—” Evander raised his hand to silence her. Belinda closed her mouth, fearing his anger.

“The purpose of this adoption isn’t to separate you from our child permanently. You’re still the birth mother and will have the right to care for him. The child will also gain the status of Young Master of the Qin family. Isn’t that better? Besides, Seinna said she’d help you get a status. After five years, I’ll divorce Senna, and you’ll become my wife.”
