I scoffed in disbelief as I watched Ariel run out of words.

Her lips trembled, but nothing like words came out of them. I could see how scared she was, but I don't even give a fuck.

It was clear now. The reason she cared about me so much. I get it–this is why my father was eager to let me get married.

“I'm sorry,” she whispered, covering her mouth immediately after she was done talking.

I scoffed in disbelief, dropping the phone to the couch before making my way towards the stairs. I was about to dash into the room when Ariel’s hand reached for mine.

“Don’t fucking touch me.” I yanked my hand off hers.

My father will have lots of explanations to do when he gets back. How the heck–I mean, I’ve always been the stupid one.

Just like Ethan had done, going behind my back to fuck with his assistance. Leaving me to watch him like a fool while he banged his co-worker.

“Keep your explanation to yourself, Ariel.” I spat angrily.

I looked away from her teary eyes as I tried to walk out, but

I scoffed in disbelief upon seeing Elizabeth grazing through this whole chaos. What does she want? “Why are you here?” I whispered, signaling to Marcus, who quickly stepped in front of me.“You should leave, Elizabeth. I’m done with you.” I spat.Whispers went around as the names of Sophia Lancaster and mine lingered on their lips.“Is it true he’s engaged to Sophia Lancaster? The only daughter of the Lancaster’s companies around the globe?” I could hear a lady whisper amongst the crowds.Just then, I knew staying here won’t help the situation, especially now that Elizabeth was here. I don’t know her aim for coming. But one thing is clear: if she makes any drastic moves, I was going to humiliate her; she will wish she hadn’t been born.“Marcus,” I called, giving Ethan a grave stare. Seems he was out of words since I pronounced Sophia as my fiancée. “Let’s go,” I commanded. “Alex–”“Don’t start, Elizabeth.” My words came as whispers, but they held some threats.I restricted myself

Just as my father handed over the letter, proclaiming that the doctor had made some mistakes.I couldn’t help but hug Ariel tighter. Tears rolled down my cheeks.“I have to go for another checkup,” I responded happily.Ariel held my hand tighter before letting it go. “Do you need us to come with you?”“No,” I smiled, staring at my father and back at Ariel.I was sure they had some things to talk about. Speaking of my father, he was one to travel every time. And Ariel is a busy one who gets embedded in work.Dragging them with me will only make me look weak and a bit dependent.“I can go on my own,” I said, tapping Ariel on the shoulder.Reaching for my bag and my phone, I stepped out of the house. Waving both of them, I shut the door. All through the journey to the hospital, I couldn’t help but pray that what my father had said was true. This could be the only thing that can restore my confidence.I started regretting everything I had said to Alexander last night. Maybe I shouldn’t ha

Fear surged through me as I tried so hard to maintain my dignity, but I was too drunk for that.I tried to balance myself, but my frail legs failed me, causing me to crash into his arms, as my eyes beheld his face.“Alex,” I whispered with a smile tugging on my lips. My hand whirled around his neck, my eyes settling on his lips.Damn! This man is the most handsome person I’ve ever seen. The way his tiny nose complemented his thin lips. And his blonde-golden hair complemented his well-shaped jaws, and right now, I couldn’t help myself.“I’m sorry,” I whispered. And before he could say any more words, I kissed off the words from his lips.As he struggled to pull me off, I tripped on his leg and was about to fall when his other hand brought me back to his chest. I inhaled his vanilla aura that spite my nose, and jeez, I wanted him so badly. “What did you give her?” I heard Alexander ask the bartender.“Alex–”“Answer me!” I heard him lash out at the bartender, who quickly brought out t

The morning sun shone so bright, it made me squint.I was just about to stretch when I realized I wasn’t alone.“Alex?” I gasped, my voice barely above a whisper. As I tried to get out of bed, a wave of heaviness pulled me back down—my hangover finally kicking in.Memories of last night came crashing back. How I had held the bed frame tighter and allowed Alex to ride me like his horse.“Fuck!” I cursed. I didn’t plan for any of this.I wasn’t supposed to tell Alex I was ready to take his offer on this. God damnit! I can’t even face him right now.Carefully getting out of bed, I watched him shift a bit before finally sleeping off again. I reached out for my iPhone and scanned through the messages.“A hundred missed calls?! I covered my mouth as a small gasp left my lips. *Where are you, girl?**Your father is worried. Call me as soon as you get this* Ariel had dropped a series of text messages. I didn’t tell any of them I was going to the club. I never thought they were going to car

Just after she left, I touched myself beneath and realized I was still turned on.“She looks so hot,” I seethed, before staring at myself and my d*ck in the mirror.I was about to touch myself, just like I had watched in porn movies when a knock landed on the door.I quickly cleared my throat, asking the person to be on standby. “You can come in now,” I said, before sitting back in bed.“Good morning, boss.” Marcus had entered, his eyes scrutinizing the bed.“What?” I questioned abruptly while I trailed his eyes to my boxer.“Seems someone is still having a boner. Did you have sex with her?” Marcus questioned all of a sudden, causing me to shy away.I’m not one to do this, but I’ve always avoided sex, and now, I guess she’s my first. “Shut up, and tell me what the fuck brought you here.” I lashed, adjusting myself, before covering my body with the bedsheets.“Alright,” Marcus smiled before approaching me with the working tablet.“So this…” he started explaining the work for the day

Getting caught between two men was a whole lot, not to mention running away from Alexander this morning. And now the man I had run away from this morning was standing right in front of me. He is the only one who could save me from this. Just as we broke off from the kiss, Ethan grabbed my hand, but I wouldn’t even allow it.“I’m done with you, Ethan!” I lashed out in front of the reporters with Alex’s hand on my waist.“I don’t want us to do this, Ethan.” Alex stepped in, sending me behind him.“Alex–”“Get back, Elizabeth!” He yelled, signaling to Marcus and his bodyguard to take over.I was about to speak when Alexander lifted me off the ground as he made his way towards the car.“Get the door,” he charged, and quickly, one of the guards did as he instructed. The reporters rushed towards us, flashing their cameras in our faces and asking more questions about what we had done earlier, but none of us answered.“Start the car,” he ordered the driver, who asked where he was headed.“Ta

“When are you getting married?” my father had asked, leaving me stunned.Shouldn’t he be concerned about his health? I can’t believe my father’s dying, and the only thing on his mind was me getting married to Alexander. Why was it so important?“We need to get you out of this place for surgery, Dad,” I insisted, with tears flowing down my cheeks. I felt my knees wobble beneath me as the thought of my father’s death kept crawling through my mind.“I’ll make you a promise,” he said, smiling in pain. “Which is?” Ariel asked, looking from my father to me.“After you are done with your wedding, I promise to go for surgery,” He said, coughing alongside.I withdrew my hand from my father, as I wiped off my tears before making my way out. It’s like he was trying to marry me off, just so he could leave me alone in this world. Is it fair? I felt some air leave my lungs as I tried to breathe, wiping off the tears that were rolling out of my eyes uncontrollably. Suddenly a hand touched me

I had signed the contract form a day before today. Today's the D-day, my wedding day. I felt tears prick my eyes, as I blinked them back while staring at my gorgeous self in the mirror. “Your mom will be so proud of you,” Ariel spoke in whispers as she helped snatch my wedding gown behind. Vera Wang, the most popular fashionista, had sewn this wedding gown, and it cost a fortune. One could mistake this wedding for a real one. But deep down, we both know it's just for a year and after that, we can go our own way. “Thanks, Ariel. I don't want to ruin my makeup,” I sniffed before looking at the embroidery on my body; it was so gorgeous. “The groom is waiting,” a feminine voice echoed from behind. “Let them know that we'll be out soon,” I said, heaving a sigh. I could hear music booming from a distance, as my heart started to race faster. “I hope this won't end in disaster,” I whispered. I don't want it to be like the other day I collapsed on the stage. “You look nervous,” “D

All through the night, I had thought about him. And this, I couldn’t help but drool over him.I knew I was in love with Alexander, but showing him that part of me wasn’t something I would want to do now.Upon getting to work, I saw Liam waiting for me at the office. “Not again,” I rolled my eyes in frustration.Dashing into the office, I made the employees know that they should attend to Ethan from now on. I’ve had enough headaches when it comes to men.I heaved a sigh, taking one of the documents that had been submitted on my table by the receptionist and scanning through it.“Wow!” was all I could say upon seeing how rich my father was. It dawned on me as to why my father has many connections and can even buy a professional doctor to lie me.“Interesting.”No sooner had I opened my personal computer than a call sprang me out of my deep thoughts.“Yes,” I answered slowly at first. “I think you need to see this.” Alexander said before adding. “You might want to come downstairs,”I q

And now, standing in front of Sophia, I feel free and happy. Knowing fully well who the enemy was and that the man who had given off to Sophia that night was Ethan. He had successfully pretended to be my employee after everyone had gotten drunk, and with his help, Sophia had perfectly framed me.I put the flowers I was holding forward to Sophia, while I watched her slowly reach out for them.Withdrawing them a bit, I stared at Sophia, waiting for her to say something.I stared at her hands, which did not attempt to even accept the flowers I was proposing to hand over to her.“Why did you go through such stress to prove to me that you are not guilty of what you were accused of?”“Because–”“I hope you are not being delusional? I didn’t waste much time as I dashed down the stairs and grabbed some clothes from one of the wardrobes that belonged to the maids.Thankfully, most of the maids were not back from the short break, so the humiliation wasn’t too much for me to handle.I made my way out of Alexander’s compound, flagging down a taxi and making my way back to my father’s house.I had left all my belongings at home after my wedding, including my cars, making it difficult for me to stop by some places and change my outfit.I knew I couldn’t do that, now that my face was all over the internet.“Are you Miss Lancaster, the heiress to the Lancaster’s company?” the driver finally interrupted my thoughts.Like I knew he was going to raise this question since he had been staring at me through his rearview mirror ever since I boarded his car.“I only looked like her. Many people say,” I lied.He smiled before pulling over at a nearby place, not too far from where my father resides. “Keep the change,” I said, befo

Upon entering the restroom, it dawned on me that I had left my phone in the room with Sophia.“Fuck!” I slammed my fist against the wall, praying to God that she wouldn’t see anything suspicious. But I was wrong. Some prayers don’t get answered even when made. Seems God betrayed me on this one as Sophia’s hands met my face in the heat of the moment, coupled with some insulting words. My cheeks burned red hot, causing me to stagger a bit backward.“Do you think I wouldn’t even find out?” She lashed, her voice filled with unforetold hatred.“I’m sorry, but it’s not what you are thinking. Sophia, can you just calm down?” I pleaded, trying to reach out to her.I know what Elizabeth is capable of. And I know she planned to destroy this marriage.Yes, it is not real. But why do I feel so drawn to her? Could it be love or something else?“I’m listening,” She crossed her hand against her chest.Waiting for me to defend myself, but words failed me at this point. It was written all over her t

  • The Heiress's Revenge    Chapter 27

I woke up as the door clicked shut.Sunlight streamed in from the east, casting a warm glow through the curtains and filling the room with brightness as it went westward. All throughout the period, Alexander kissed my forehead and picked up his phone to leave the room; I was aware of it all.I didn’t know how to face him after last night of giving him a hot round of sex that came with different styles and moanings.I ran my head through my hair as my eyes bored into the mirror, which was just opposite me, giving me a clear view of how I looked.“Shit,” Getting out of bed, I quickly reached for the wardrobe, bringing out a big comb to brush my messy hair and also applying some makeup. I was almost done with the whole thing when my phone rang out loud.I quickly threw off the brush and pounced on it to reduce the loudness. “Ariel.” I picked up quickly, glancing at the door at intervals. My heart raced faster as I prayed that Alex would stay a little longer. I wasn’t ready to face him

All through the journey home, I couldn’t focus on myself. My eyes remain fixed on her. How could a woman have everything? Beauty, brain–and now she’s my wife?I wanted to claim her so badly, but I couldn’t. She seems so worried, and I don’t think this was the right time to do it. But with her standing right here in front of me, naked and naive, I can no longer be the gentle man I had promised myself to be tonight.I wanted her so badly, and it seems that the maid or whoever had done this whole arrangement didn’t make a mistake. It was the perfect way to seduce a woman. I might be innocent in terms of having sex with a woman, but I was sure to have watched some pornography on how to make a woman beg for more. And tonight, I won’t only make her beg me for more, but also tease her so much that she’ll scream my name. “Aww, Alexander,” She gasped as I yanked the wedding gown off her, claiming her nipples with my lips, adding a tiny little teasing bite on it as I watched her nipple stand

The wedding ended not quite on a good note as Alex had refused to say a word to me after he had successfully sent his ex-fiancée away, as well as Ethan. As the driver drove along the wet street, I couldn’t help but think about my life. This wasn’t the kind of wedding I had pictured for myself while growing up. But what am I to do when my father’s well-being is tied to it? All I know is that tomorrow my dad must be flown out of this country for his surgery. I cannot afford to lose him.“What’s on your mind?” Alexander broke the silence, his hand reaching out to me as soon as the driver pulled over.At first, I couldn’t believe my eyes. His house was not just filled with flowers and fountains, but at every edge of the house, there were guards and maids ready to receive us.In one word, this place looks like a palace. And I feel more like a queen in it.The smell of roses hits the air, blessing my nostrils with a good scent. I got lost in the whole scenery when Alexander reached out to

I never thought I'd be nervous on my wedding day. I thought it was just going to be a normal one, but this was different. I'm getting married to the most beautiful woman in New York City. And not just that, the heir to the whole of Lancaster's property. “You look so tense,” Marcus said as I stared at the mirror, perplexed. “Is it really visible?” “Yes. Just relax. I'm sure Sophia wouldn't want her man to look so stressed,” “You've forgotten this is not a real marriage. It's just a contract one, Marcus,” I said before picking up my cologne. “You need to see this,” Marcus suddenly called my attention to my phone. I had handed it over to him, letting him know that he was to handle anything that came my way today. ‘Can I see you for a minute?’ — Elizabeth. “I'm not interested,” I said. “Tell her I'm not interested,” I lashed back at Marcus. Turning my back on him to continue where I left off, Marcus heaved a sigh and started to type when a knock landed on the door. “Alex,” my
