Chapter 6

ROSE.

Tonight I meet with my enemy at an old abandoned warehouse, even though we are at war there are some rules that need to be put into place, and keeping women, children and the innocent out of this mess is top priority.

What about men, I never include men because they are the ones that start the mess in the first place with our swollen heads and bruised egos.

I look at my phone before switching it off because I don't need any interruptions, I need to have my head on in case he tries anything out of the ordinary, and knowing Belarus it's highly possible.

“You showed, I thought you would have sent someone, I didn't think I would see you in the flesh.”

His voice is cold, like ice that's been sitting in a freezer for too long.

“For you to kill him and use that as an excuse, not happening.”

“Shall we sit,” he asked

We both sit opposite each other, I'm trying to be as relaxed as possible but knowing the man I'm sitting in front of loves playing dirty it's hard.

I start,

“Women and children are off-limits.”

“I can agree on that, you have my word.”

“Innocent by standard and people who have nothing to do with our situation aren't allowed to be harmed.”

“Hmmm.. I can't agree on that, throwing people into the fire sometimes makes it a little more exciting…”

“Balrus..”

“Why shout brother, that's fine.. You have my word.”

“Your word is as good as money, it comes and goes, that's why I drafted this up please sign.”

“You drafted up a legal document for a war.”

“Yes..”

He pulls the paper towards him and holds it up to his face, his eyes scan the paper and then a wicked smile curls around his lips.

“Ooops.. I think I broke one of these rules.”

“Which one.” I slammed my hand down on the table

“the one about innocent bystanders, don't you have a new nurse that's taking care of your father.” he asked,

“How is that your business?”

“I'd answer that if I were you.”

My phone rang off and I saw an incoming call from my fathers guard, taking the call I was both shocked and surprised by what I heard on the other line,

“Sir….your father.. the.. Woman..”

“Roy, Roy.”

BLACK.

I'm not sure how many hours had past by since I've been knocked out but the longer the hours the worst the situation, I try to stand but was stopped midway by the chains that are wrapped around my ankles, hands and neck.

Silver, the thing us wolves hate the most after wolfsbane, looking around trying to see in the darkness of the room I spot something no someone.

It's Balrus sitting on a chair with his eyes closed as he smokes a Cuban cigar,

“You see Rose you and I are completely different people, you have high standards and I don't. Anything goes for me, may it be I have to take the life of a woman, man, dog, cat I don't harm children. I'll do whatever it takes to get to where I want to be.”

“Your sick Balrus you know that right?”

“So I've been told on many occasion.”

“What did you do to my father and the nurse.”

“Nothing, yet.”

His phone rang off and he answered, and as if he got news he doesn't expect I heard him shout at the top of his lungs.

“How the fuck is that possible, and who the fuck is she..”

He burst out of the door and excited the room, the first person came to mind was Reyda, I hope he wasn't referring to her and if he was what the hell did she do.

I didn't think I just acted,

“Hayden do you think you can break out of these chains.”

“We haven't been here for that long, so yes it's possible.”

Hayden came forward with his wolf strength and ridded us from the silver chains, I bolted towards the door mustering up all the strength I had to ready myself for a fight.

As I pulled the door open I saw Balrus standing in front of me along with a group of men, they all rushed me at the same time everyone but Balrus.

Having a go at me may it be punches, kicks, slaps over and over and over I wanted to let Hayden out but I couldn't, one false move and I could be found.

I forth my way through the crowd and escaped through a window, my mission now is to get home and make sure my father and Reyda are alright.

That they weren't harmed in anyway, it was stupid of me to remove the guards from the house tonight but they hadn't had a days off In months.

It is a well-deserved day off and well needed.

I'm running through the streets with no shirt or shoes just my suit pants, looking at the street sign to see find out exactly where I am. I noticed that I I'm far away from home and it would take me at least two to three hours on foot and about thirty minutes by car.

Peeking about to see if there are any parked cares and I spot a red Toyota I used a rock to smash the window glass, opened the car door from the inside, and looked through the car for a spear key, once I wasn't successful I did it the old school way. HOT WIRE.

My hearts beating through my chest at this point, not only because my father could be dead but because I put someone in a situation they shouldn't has been in in the first place.

I pulled up to the lit mansion and saw my guards moving in and out of the house, looking around until one of them spotted me..

“Boss your father..”

“Move.”

I push him away and run to the second floor of the house only to find my father's wheelchair turned over and a man tied up in a corner.

“Someone pulled the alarm and that's how we all ended up here, we didn't see anyone but this man and when we questioned him he bit his tongue.”

“Fuck…..!” I shouted,

“ we had someone from the police department do a background check and he is one of Balrus men.”

“How did he get in?”

“We think he came in when we offloaded the cases of water from the truck this morning.”

“And Reyda has anyone been able to get in contact with her.”

“No, we tried calling and we also went by her house but there wasn't anyone there the apartment was in complete darkness.”

“Dr.smith.”

“We didn't contact him mainly because we know she's his daughter, and I'm not sure if your want us to alarm him.”

“FUCK.. Fuck.. Fuck!”

Roy's phone rang startling us both and I turned him over and pulled it from his pocket, it's an unknown number and despite my better judgement I answer anyway.

“Hello.. Who is this?.”

“Come to the little inn bar on fifth street and ask for a double whiskey with a cherry and no ice.” the call ended.
