Hazel’s POV

“What the hell are you saying, Mr Ben? There is no way my account is empty. That’s impossible.”

I stared blankly at my bank manager, praying I’d misheard him.

“Mrs Gomez,” he said again, cautious now, “your account… it’s empty.”

The words slammed into me like a physical blow.

“That’s impossible,” I snapped, my voice shaking. “Check again.”

He cleared his throat and turned the screen toward me. The numbers glared back in cruel simplicity. Balance: $0.00.

My throat closed. “No… there’s no way my account is empty. Seventeen billion… gone? How?!”

Mr. Ben leaned forward, his voice lowering as if softening the execution. “The funds were transferred yesterday. The authorisation came from your personal access. And…” He hesitated. “We also confirmed that your linked crypto wallets were liquidated into the same destination.”

It felt like the walls caved in around me. Not just my bank account. Even my crypto reserves—my secret backup, my untouchable safety net—gone.

“Look, Mr Ben, I

Jace’s POVMy heart was filled with joy. This was the happiest I’d been since the championship. Nothing compared to this. It was time to show the world that the king was back.“So, I need to be sure you’ve had enough protein before we head to the ice,” Scott said, scrolling through the tab on his iPad, checking what I’d eaten that day to see if it matched the exact amount of protein and calories I needed.“I’m not hungry, Scott. Just grab my stuff and let’s go.” My legs, my hands; hell, my whole body was itching. I couldn’t wait to hit the ice.“Not until you have a glass of smoothie. You haven’t had enough protein and calories today. I don’t want your strength running out while you train.”“Well, I just said I’m not hungry.” My voice came out sharper than I meant, but I didn’t care.“And I heard you clearly, but you don’t have to be hungry to take your protein shake. Since you refused to wait until tomorrow before hitting the ice, I have to prep you well. This is non-negotiable.”“Wh

Jace’s POVEver since my father embraced me, my life has felt lighter. I was happy for no reason, like a weight I didn’t even know I carried had slipped off my shoulders. It was the first time I had ever hugged him, so it meant more than I could explain. Seeing my frames lined up proudly in his room made me realise that, beyond all that toughness, there was a man who truly cared about me, though he had a strange way of showing it.I already knew he was at the dining table that morning before I even reached the turning point of the staircase. His cologne had already filled the living room; Rich, woody, expensive. I owned designer perfumes too, but somehow, his always overshadowed mine. I had no idea what his secret was.“Morning, Dad,” I said as I sat close to him. Not far off, like I usually did. He was sipping black coffee, strong and bitter-smelling, and reading the day’s newspaper. He never missed it.“Morning, son.”“What’s the news saying today?” I asked, taking a bite of my grap

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 82: The Father’s Embrace

Jace’s POVI watched as she devoured the chicken in front of me, like someone who hadn’t eaten in days. She didn’t even try to hide the hunger, and something about that cut deeper than I expected. When she asked for more, I lifted a hand and signalled Stephen to bring another plate from the kitchen. My eyes didn’t leave her. They couldn’t.I studied her closely: the sharpness of her cheekbones, the faint hollows beneath her eyes, and the way her fingers trembled slightly when she gripped the fork. I was reading her like a book I thought I had burned years ago, a story I’d tried to forget, now forcing its way back into my life with each bite she took.I was the only one at the dining table with her. My father had stormed off, leaving a silence that hung over us like smoke. Scott sat at the other end, quiet, his gaze flicking between us like he was watching a fuse burn toward an explosion. With her mouth still full, she looked up at me and said, “You’ve grown so big. I watch you on TV,

Esme’s POV“Do I hear one million?”The auctioneer’s voice sliced through the heavy silence like a blade.“One million, going once… going…”“Two million.”The crowd stirred, heads turning toward a shadowed man in the back. He was masked like the rest, but his presence pulled the room tight.“Ten million.”The words hit like a death sentence. Cold. Sharp. Familiar.I knew that voice. I’d never forget it.Dolce Diabol. They call him the Sweet Devil. My father’s rival. The same man who had him killed and took over his territory. And now, my father’s killer had just bought me.The auctioneer’s gavel slammed down.“Sold.”Just like that, I was sold to the most notorious drug lord in Mexico. Diabol controls the entire Culiacán region. I would be transported across borders like a package, still in handcuffs, and for the first time in my life, I felt true fear.I didn’t know what waited for me on the other side. They injected something into my neck, and before I could react, a cloth was tied

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 80: The Mother I Lost

Jace’s POVThe morning after the event, the humiliation still clung to me like smoke after a fire. No matter how many times I replayed it in my head, I couldn’t shake it. The whispers, the flashing cameras, Alice’s voice slicing through the hall like she owned me. It wasn’t just embarrassment. It felt like a stain, one I couldn’t scrub off.Scott leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed, watching me with that mix of irritation and concern he’d perfected. “You already know Alice is a psycho. I told you she was going to pull some shit.”I raked a hand through my hair, the pounding in my temples refusing to ease. “Yeah, well, ‘psycho’ or not, that’s the woman my father is dead set on me marrying.” My voice came out bitter and too tight. I lifted the pineapple smoothie Steph had set in front of me and took a slow sip, but the sweetness only made last night’s sour taste sharper.Scott’s eyes narrowed. “Let’s not pretend here, Jace. You keep telling me there’s nothing between you a
