Chapter 149: The Chasing

"Rain, do you think you can walk?" Alice asked me out of nowhere.

"Yes, I can. Why?"

"I feel uneasy. Let's get out here. Something bad would happen when I feel like this," she added. "Come, let's go," she said, bringing out the bags full of baby's clothing and some of our clothes.

Without questioning and believing her, I helped her pack.

"It's snowing. The scent of snow blocks any scent of potential intruders. With Diesel's connection, I can' assure us we're still safe here. It's better than sorry."

Alice shifted into her wolf form and told me to ride on her back. I did what she wanted, and as soon as I tapped her gently, saying I was good to go, she sprinted at her top speed without particular direction.

Despite the thick snow slowing us down, we made it far until we heard a loud howl. It was so loud that it made me and Alice tremble.
