Alijah was pretty sure that her brain was broken by the end of Scott’s and Renee’s explanations.

She was speechless for more than a couple of seconds and Renee turned to Scott with wide eyes.

“I think we’ve broken her,” Renee aptly remarked to which Scott refrained the urge to roll his eyes at his sister.

He never believed a human would be able to understand the intricacies of the supernatural world, anyway. They were far too mundane and ordinary to perceive anything beyond their own lives, just like cattle. But at the very least, wouldn’t she be able to understand a simple concept as her life being in danger?

“Um,” Alijah spoke up, clearing her throat as she tried to regain her senses. “So, what I’m getting is that you have no intention of leaving here. Or rather, leaving me the hell alone.”

She decided to go straight to the point and cut out the talks around her blood. She’d heard the word ‘blood’ too many damn times in less than a couple of minutes.
