-Isabella- My words may have been harsh but they had to have been said. We had started threading through dangerous ground with this whole relationship. There is a slight possibility that we haven’t done anything wrong and that maybe I was simply on the edge from my argument with my sister and Mark. Regardless, having Ezra with us in the same car, Damian calling me from his number was already a dangerous situation. There were way too many lies woven through our whole relationship and it is just a matter of time before they get uncovered. At one point, we are adults. We decide our own fates and lives. We are responsible for it all. There is no need to be worried. But I wouldn’t want Damian to lose his best friend and that the people around us start feeling like they can’t trust us because we hid a secret from them. I glanced at Damian who had now fallen asleep and I smiled softly. I made sure to focus on the drive, shifting my eyes away from Damian to the road. Soon enough, I pulle
-Isabella- The car was huge. Sitting behind the wheel was a challenge in this car. It felt like I was operating a spaceship. It felt way too big even on the street as I drove past the other vehicles on the road. Monster Truck driver who? Isabella Young, apparently. After a while of driving, soft snoring could be heard from the back seat and when I finally looked through the rearview mirror I could see Ezra’s head tipped back against the head rest, his mouth hanging open resulting in the soft snores. I glanced between the mirror and the street, under the passing light Ezra looked like a normal guy and not at all like the asshole everyone knew and loved. Well, loved in this instance was questionable. Maybe tolerated would be a better choice of the word. Everyone definitely tolerated him. “I’m sorry, baby…” a soft murmur to my right pulled me out of my reverie. “There is nothing to be sorry for,” I turned my wheel left, when the traffic light turned green. “There is…” he stated
-Isabella- I was sound asleep when a loud buzzing rattled my bed and my chest. I woke up panicked and disoriented thinking we were having a fucking earthquake. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes only to realize that it was actually my phone. Blinking rapidly, the screen lighting up the whole room. I’d fallen asleep hugging it to my chest after Damian didn’t answer my call, and me, thinking that he will call me right back or shoot me a text soon, I hadn’t let go of it not even during my slumber that I’d fallen under, unaware that Damian won’t be calling me tonight at all. With my one eye closed and the other one squinting at my phone I could discern that the screen of my phone was lit up with an upcoming call with an ‘unknown number’ stated as caller ID. I swallowed hard and swiped right on the ‘accept call’. “Hello?” I said quietly into the phone’s speaker, fearing the worst. “Bella! AYYY!” the voice called out and I was in disbelief. No way. I sat up quickly in my bed, the blank
-Damian- I exhaled sharply unsure of what to do. The caller ID was staring at me. All of the fresh air I had just let into the car by opening the windows felt like it vanished from the car. All of that just by one phone call by my mother. The worst thing was that she wasn’t stopping. The phone kept ringing loudly, keen on making my ears bleed with the amount of noise my speakers were making.Eventually, I pressed my thumb to the screen and swiped to answer the call. However, before I could get anything out or hold my phone properly to my ear my mother’s voice rang out. “What do you think you’re doing?”“Good evening to you too, mother.” I said evenly as if all of this was fine. As if her calling me right after I dropped Elizabeth off at her gate wasn’t disturbing in the least. She exhaled sharply “Good evening, Damian. What do you think you’re doing?” She repeated the question. “Should I pretend to know what you’re talking about or will you explain it to me?” “Elizabeth!” She st
-Damian-The night came to an end. The restaurant lights flickering behind us as I led Elizabeth toward the restaurant exit. Elizabeth walked next to me with her hand curled around my bicep like a lady she is. Her shoulders are relaxed, chin tipped up just so, and lips carrying the hint of that soft satisfaction. Like a true heiress, aware that she has won something. I don't look at her. I don't give her the satisfaction of meeting my gaze. Because no matter how much she thinks she has won tonight, I couldn't help but want to jump out of my skin. At her voice. At her touch. At that victorious smile. Before I could think better of it, I opened the passenger door for her, like a gentleman I was raised to be. She smiled, getting into the passenger seat and getting comfortable. To her getting comfortable meant sitting like a poised little heiress. Back straight. Arms folded neatly in her lap. Closing the door I nodded to the valet in greeting and got into the car. I started driv
-Damian- She smiled at me as if this was the outcome she had hoped to achieve all this time. To wrap me around her little, manicured fingers and jam them so hard into my ribs so that I have no other option but to listen to her and marry her."I'm happy you finally found the time to have this dinner with me." She took a sip of her wine. "Honestly, judging by how the last time ended I thought you were unhappy with the arrangement your mother made, the other girls were worried you might not come around." She curved her lips, her fingers trasing the rim of her wine glass."Come around?" "Oh yeah, arranging the dinner with us, or at least telling your mother to arrange it." "Right, of course." I gave her a tight smile. "There is no other place that I would rather be than here." I lied through my teeth and continued looking over the menu. The food has to be proper. It has to be something that will not make anyone suspicious of my loyalties. It has to be something that screams my nam

-Isabella-The night carries on, and my inhibitions get lowered by the alcohol I've ingested in the mere hours we've been at the club.
