Lancelin’s P.O.V
The tunnels under Castel Estella seemed to last forever. The deeper we went the colder it got. It was a good thing immortals didn’t feel cold or heat the same as humans did. Sanaya would no longer be the same either. She was one of us now.
Those icy fingers gripped my chest again as I thought of Sanaya. She still couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that she was no longer a human; that she would now have to watch her loved ones die before her own eyes as she stayed ageless. A sculpture set in stone. Sanaya hadn’t taken the news lightly.
But I couldn’t come to regret my decision. Everything I did was to save her. And I would do it a thousand times over if it meant that she would remain by my side for the rest of eternity. I could only hope that by turning her, I didn’t poison her heart against me forever. I couldn’t see a future without Sanaya.

She had been able to create these mental vaults since she was a child and they became very useful as she grew up when she could arrange emergency Dark Council meetings without everyone having to be physically present. She had been influenced by the legend of King Arthur and his round table for his knights while designing the outline for this mental room, in which all the Knights bore equal power. Similarly, all Kings and Queen here were equal, even though they considered her their leader.
