"After all, Edward is just the son of a poor old woman who used to work at a nightspot. It's disgusting to think how many men enjoyed that old woman's body!"

That sentence was the final straw for Edward. Elizabeth's words that demeaned his foster mother, the woman who had taken care of him and loved him like a biological child, made his anger peak. His foster mother had always treated Elizabeth with the utmost respect, yet now Elizabeth easily insulted the noblewoman.

Edward's breath caught in his throat, his body trembling with uncontrollable rage. Without hesitation, he broke down the door.

A loud bang was heard as the door hit the wall, startling them. They immediately panicked and hurriedly covered their naked bodies.

Edward stood in the doorway, staring at them with a sharp, hateful gaze.

"You are a disgusting woman, Elizabeth! How could you do this to me!?"

"Edward? You... are back?" Elizabeth was startled, trying to get closer to Edward, but her intentions were thwarted as she realized her body was unclothed.

"Why do you wish I had never come back so that you would be free to commit these immoral acts in our home?!" Edward grinned, his voice full of anger.

"Edward, watch your words! It's not what you think. I... I can explain everything!" Elizabeth tried to explain, her voice trembling.

"Explain what? What do you want to explain, Elizabeth?! I've heard everything. You don't need to bother explaining anything to me!" Edward almost shouted, controlling himself with difficulty.

"Edward, please, I..." Elizabeth approached, wrapping herself in a blanket to cover her body while the man she was with lay only in his underwear. Elizabeth tried to grab Edward's hand, but he dodged quickly, distancing himself from her touch.

"No! You have nothing more to explain! That's enough! From now on, I don't want to see you again. Tomorrow, I will divorce you!" Edward said firmly, then turned to leave.

"Divorce? Fine! Do you think I'm scared? I'm not! I will never regret leaving a poor man like you!" retorted Elizabeth in a tone full of contempt.

Edward stopped his steps and turned around, staring at Elizabeth angrily.

Elizabeth leaned closer, her voice sharp. "What I'm doing is all because of you!"

"Because of me? What do you mean?" Edward asked in a cold tone.

"Yes, because you're poor!" Elizabeth snapped. "You can't fulfil my needs!"

Edward clenched his fists. "I've given you all my salary, and now you say it's insufficient? What nonsense is this?"

"It's not enough!" Elizabeth exclaimed. "I want more! I'm tired of being looked down upon by my friends. Only Steve can give me that!"

"Then marry him, and don't mind me anymore!" snapped Edward sharply.

"Without you telling me to, I would have married him anyway," Elizabeth retorted coldly.

"I don't care, and I hope you never regret your decision."

"Regret?" Steven's voice suddenly rang out. He got up from the bed, walking casually towards them. "There will never be any regrets for Elizabeth divorcing you. After all, who are you to regret it? You're just an ordinary staff with a small salary. What can you be proud of?"

Steven stood beside Elizabeth, embracing her casually. He gently kissed the top of Elizabeth's head while glancing contemptuously at Edward.

"You think you're great, Steven? No, you don't! You're just a rotten loser who gets everything at the expense of others. We'll see how long you can stay in your current position!" Edward replied in a tone full of anger and disgust.

He turned around, intending to leave, but his steps were halted again.

"Stop!" Elizabeth called out to him in a loud voice. "If you want to leave, take this with you!"

Elizabeth took off the pendant necklace around her neck and threw it at Edward.

The necklace fell, and Edward immediately stepped on it.

"I don't want to touch anything related to you anymore. It's forbidden for me to touch it," Edward said coldly. He didn't care that the pendant held many memories of the girl he had helped on the battlefield, but what he had never expected was that the girl he thought was good turned out to be a woman who worshipped wealth,

"You hypocrite! Who do you think you are? You're just an orphan raised by a prostitute! Don't be sanctimonious!" mocked Steven.

Edward clenched his fist. "Take it back, Steven, before I finish you off!"

"Finish me? Go ahead! But after that, you'll be in jail for sure!" Steven challenged with a sardonic smile.

Edward said no more. His hard fist flew into Steven's face, knocking him to the ground. Punch after punch was thrown by Edward mercilessly, while Steven could only protect himself as best he could.

"Edward, stop!" Elizabeth shouted frantically, but her voice was ignored.

Desperate, Elizabeth grabbed a vase of flowers and hit Edward on the head. Edward staggered for a moment, his head bleeding.

Seeing an opportunity, Steven pushed Edward out of the room. Together with Elizabeth, he closed and locked the door quickly.

Outside the room, Edward's anger was still evident. His hands were clenched tightly, and his body was still trembling with emotion. However, he quickly controlled himself. With a decisive gesture, he grabbed his cell phone and dialled someone's number.

"Lee, order someone to pick me up now," Edward said coldly before hanging up without waiting for an answer.

Edward left his home and the woman he once loved with a man he thought was better. However, Elizabeth does not know who Edward is and what big secret he has been hiding.

Outside the house, a row of luxury cars were parked in the courtyard. A man in a black suit got out of one of the cars, opened the door, and welcomed Edward, who walked over calmly but dignifiedly.

Steven, standing by the window from the second floor, caught the scene. His curiosity made him hurriedly open the window curtains wider,
