Forty Six

Serena’s POV

I picked up the knife Nate had flung across the room and turned to Jacques. “Keep an eye on him, we still need to find out more.”

Jacques nodded, before I ran after Nate. As I ran down the corridor, a crashing sound erupted. I picked up my pace, knowing wherever the sound had come from would also be where I found Nate.

As expected, Nate was stood in the first cell with his fist in the wall. Whilst it couldn’t effect me as his mate, his aura was drowning in rage. Ripples of emotions could be felt as I approached him. His face appeared furious, but his emerald diamonds told me he was heartbroken.

“Hey, come here.” I softly told him, as I waited by the cell door. Locks of raven hair fell down his forehead, almost hiding his hooded eyes. His tie was now on the floor and his suit shirt had been ripped open.
