The appetizer arrived. Everyone was quiet; no one muttered a single word. Normally, I thought Nicolais was far away when we sat down to eat, but now it felt like he was even further away. Luckily, Sicca was sitting on my left side, so at least there was someone close I could lean on. On my right side was Sebristien, who, more or less, spent every second looking at me.

The two queens were sitting at the middle of the table; Vaseline next to Sicca, with Earthlian on the other side, and Jólena next to Sebristien with the King of Darkness on the other side.

The appetizer looked fancy; it was clearly something delicate and classy, and it looked like a masterpiece. So distinguished, I almost didn’t want to eat it.
