Chapter 57
The first day of the festivities had gone down without any issues. We had woken up to a world that had been transformed in a winter wonderland. Snow laid piled high in thick swathes of white in the fields around the castle. Giant icicles having formed over the arched windows around the castle. It was beautiful and freezing.
Even layered up in thick winter coats and furs, the sub-zero conditions still managed to penetrate to the bone.

Nina was right, the ride across the snowy fields was both bumpy and cold. The wind hit my face like shards of ice slicing through my skin. My eyes watered making it difficult to see. It was no use trying to make sense of where they were taking me, so, I simply just hold onto Silas tighter and close my eyes waiting for us to reach whatever it was that Alex wanted to show me.
