On Christmas Eve, our three-year-old daughter, Noelle Gilder, who has cancer, takes a turn for the worse. All she wants is for her mother, Ivana Lance, to dress as Santarina and bring her a gift. I frantically call Ivana, but she impatiently yells into the phone, saying, "Why are you calling me nonstop? I am helping Charles look for Bubbles! Do you really have to make a scene over this? If Bubbles is gone, Charles will be so heartbroken that he will not be able to sleep for days!" Bubbles? So she was looking for the dog of her first love, Charles Larsson! Suppressing my anger, I tell her that Noelle might not survive the night. She laughs disbelievingly, "Mr. Gilder, do not think for a second that I'm not aware that you've spoiled Noelle rotten! If she had not suddenly kicked Bubbles, he would not have run away. Make Noelle apologize to Charles tomorrow." After hanging up, I accompany Noelle as she spends her final Christmas Eve with tears in my eyes. The next day, Ivana publishes a post on Instagram, still looking for the dog. Meanwhile, my post is Noelle's obituary. Ten years of marriage melt away into nothingness like snow.

The Last Christmas Chapter 8
After recovering from the shock, Charles shouted from behind me, "What kind of man are you? You destroyed your wife's career!"I almost laughed out loud. Not only had I destroyed Ivana's career, but I had also destroyed Charles' dream of marrying a rich woman so that he wouldn't have to work.Charles rushed toward me and tried to grab me, but I sidestepped him calmly and pulled out my tablet from my bag. Then, I played a video.Under the dim lights of the bar, Ivana and Charles held each other tightly, kissing passionately as if no one else existed. Charles' hands even wandered restlessly beneath Ivana's skirt. He had looked smug while provoking me earlier, but he looked panicked now.He suddenly lunged at me and knocked my livestreaming phone to the ground with one hand. No longer bothering to keep up his pretense, he roared hysterically, "Are you insane? Ivana stopped loving you a long time ago! Don't you get it? Ivana and I were each other's first love. We never forgot each
The Last Christmas Chapter 7
Ivana tried to step forward to stop me, but one look from me froze her in place. Hesitating, she turned to Charles and said, "Charles, if you're innocent, then you have nothing to worry about. This is a society governed by law. He wouldn't dare to do anything illegal."I dragged Charles all the way to his car. It was obvious he knew what I was about to do. He struggled like a madman and shouted, "What are you doing, Jeremiah? If you keep this up, I'll call the police!"I sneered coldly. "Open the trunk."At first, it had only been one of my suspicions. After Charles carried Bubbles into the parking garage, it had disappeared from sight. It was very likely that he had hidden it inside his own car.In the livestream comments, Charles' fans immediately started attacking me verbally."You lunatic! I'm calling the police!""You've gone too far! Stop harassing our prince charming!""What are you trying to do? Even if your child has already passed away, what Charles said was true!

I watched those videos over and over again, and fury coursed through me. It felt like a massive stone was crushing my chest and making it hard to breathe. The doctors and nurses at the hospital were just as furious as I was.The doctor who dressed up as Santarina in Ivana's place was the first to speak up for me. With reddened eyes, she shouted into the camera, "Noelle was allergic to dog fur! She was only trying to get away. She was so frail and weak. How could she possibly kick a dog? And besides, she already…"She choked up emotionally and was almost unable to continue speaking."Noelle… Noelle passed away that night! She died! Can't you people have at least a little decency?"She held up her phone with a trembling hand. On the screen, a frail Noelle leaned weakly against her. It was their final photo together. After she spoke out, public opinion online immediately began to shift."My gosh! You people out there, does it feel good to kick someone when they're down?""I can'

After returning home, I thought things over repeatedly and decided that I should first return to the country to settle everything here before considering whether to accept Jennifer's suggestion to help her run the company. On the day I flew back, I switched to a new phone so that Ivana wouldn't be able to track me for the time being. The moment the plane landed, I didn't waste a second and immediately took a cab to the hospital.I still couldn't let go of Noelle's death. I wanted to find out the true cause of her death. The doctor responsible for Noelle looked troubled when he saw me.He said, "Mr. Gilder, we already did everything we could. Noelle's body has already been cremated, so it's difficult to find direct evidence proving that the worsening of her condition was related to a dog fur allergy."Besides, if they truly didn't know about Noelle's allergy, there's no way to hold them legally responsible."My heart sank to my stomach.I had already expected this. I knew collec

I took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the simmering rage that was about to burst forth.Turning around, I lowered my voice and said into the phone receiver, "Ivana, Noelle is dying."There was a second of silence on the other end before a scoff came through. "Cut the crap! One second you'r

On Christmas Eve, the hospital called me. The doctor's voice was urgent as he informed, "Mr. Gilder, Noelle's condition has worsened. She's being resuscitated right now! We can't get through to Mrs. Gilder. Please come quickly!"I didn't even bother to clean up before rushing toward the hospital.

Jennifer had been waiting at the airport early in the morning. The moment she saw the urn in my hands, she got choked up.After sitting silently in the car for a long time, she finally said, "Don't worry. I won't let Ivana get away with this."I nodded and moved into Jennifer's villa. I was planni

The bodyguards Jennifer had brought held Ivana back firmly. She was hunched over. It was as though she still hadn't accepted the reality of Noelle's death. Her eyes were hollow, and she kept muttering to herself.Beside her, Charles kept tugging at the bodyguards while shouting, "Let go! Ivana is t
