Kaida’s POV

“For a fact, I know who I am. I’m Kaida.”

He must have assumed that I didn’t know who I was just because I knew nothing about my parents.

“I know you are Kaida, but there is more to you being Kaida, and you don’t know yet,” he lectured.

I avoided his eyes for reasons best known to me, but his eyes were piercing through my skin. I could feel it, and it had been going on for minutes.

An awkward silence lingered, but the question-and-answer session hadn’t come to an end, or he would have made his way out of the room.
