Blackmail

Cassie stood still watching Erik and Hrolf talk about what she assumed was important but wasn't supposed to be heard by her.

She stared at the sun which was shining brightly and announcing the break of a new day.

"Hrolf," she murmured. Hrolf was relegating her to the background and that was something she wasn't going to condone. She couldn't understand why she had to walk away while leaving him alone with Erik. She was the next in power after him since Gael was too small to rule so if anything happens to him she would assume the role but still, he couldn't consider her and how she would feel before dismissing her.

She felt relieved at the fact that she wasn't caught by him, at least Ashina hadn't said anything yet and she hoped that she wouldn't. She was ready to do anything that was requested of her by Ashina as long as it was within her power. She walked away toward her room pondering on what to do to remain relevant. She wasn't expecting Hrolf to have suspicion toward her after
