Her heart was beating hard against her rib cage as she walked toward the room of the guards.

Cassie could remember how foolish the guard was in giving her the location of his room. She could remember vividly how she had warned him not to hand any note to her which would lead to further evidence against her but still, he did.

He had told her how he had waited for her for hours on the path just to hand over this to her.

She was infuriated when she took a glance at the note and to top it all, he had an annoying smile on his face. Cassie would never forget how she had managed to keep her calm so he wouldn't get her angry.

"I will surely come and meet you," she had told him before watching him walk away.

Immediately he walked away. She had squeezed the parchment containing the letter and threw it on the ground but on second thought she picked it up. She didn't want a stranger to see it and use it against her.
