Riddance

The door creaked as she tried her best to open it silently without attracting anyone. She couldn't afford to be found out. Not now, it wouldn't help at all. She inhaled sharply before walking hurriedly on the pathway while turning at intervals to see if she was being followed by anyone.

"There is no one there I am tired already" she heard one of the guards complain.

She bit her lips nervously while thinking of what to do. She didn't want anyone to see her, she couldn't risk it.

"Moon goddess, please distract them," she chanted in her mind as she ran behind a pillar.

She watched as the guard walked forward, throwing glances at the surrounding before walking away.

"I told you there is no one there," the other said, their voice fading as they walked away.

She heaved a sigh of relief when she walked out of behind the pillar running toward the bush.
