I grumbled in irritation, "Stop pacing.

I retorted, "You don't have to pace to think. Levi halted for a split second before starting to pace once more. I turned over on the bed so I couldn't see Levi pacing while I closed my eyes and tried to contain my rage. I could still hear it, and it was making me tense because if he continued, we'd be in the middle of a heated dispute. But that was standard practice today.

For about a month, Levi and I had been residing in the modest, remote cottage. My life's darkest month had just passed. Levi was picking conflicts with me if he wasn't upset, which meant he was depressed. We no longer did anything else other than argue for longer periods of time.
