Chapter 5 - Fight

Carrie POV

I do not know how long we traipsed through the forest.  It felt like days, but we had not even hit nightfall yet.  I knew I was out of shape, but this was ridiculous.  “I need a break,” I say panting to the two women.  They both sigh, looking at me annoyed.  “I need water,” I add hoping there was a brook close by.

Jessica led the way wordlessly towards the water.  I raced around her dropping to my knees and scooping up as much water as I could.  “Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Mandy asked as she bent down to lap up some water as well.  Jessica stood there looking around us.  “I do not like this,” she murmurs.

Mandy is immediately on alert standing and moving towards Jessica.  “What?” she asks.  “It is too quiet,” she says as Mandy listens and nods.  I take more water before standing, “What does that mean?” I ask.  “It means we are either about to be ambushed, or we have stumbled onto someone else’s territory,” Mandy says as she looks around as if she is spooked.

“It cannot be someone’s territory this close to us,” Mandy says.  Oh Moon Goddess, please tell me we have not come back to the territory I just left, “We did not get turned around, did we?  We are not on my old territory?” I whisper asking the women.  Looking at me, Jessica replies, “No, that was in the opposite direction to where we are,” she says as I breathe a sigh of relief.

“Do not get too comfortable wolf-less wolf.  We are about to get some company,” Mandy says to me as her and Jessica continue to scan and sniff the air.  As she finished speaking, two mutts walked out of the forest smirking at us.  “Well, well, well what do we have here?  Three rogue females just for us to play with,” the bigger of the two says.

“You wish,” Mandy says with a scowl.  “Oh, I want her,” the other wolf says.  “I don’t know, I like the Alpha … she looks like she will be a challenge,” the first wolf replies.  Looking to the two women, I realize they do not see me as a threat.  I could run, while they fight but I know I cannot leave them.  Even if I am without a wolf, I can still help in some way.

“And the wolf-less wolf.  How peculiar.  Where did you come from little doll?  You smell fresh,” the first male observes.  I do not respond and simply stare at him giving him what I hope is a fierce look.  He bursts out laughing … clearly not as fierce as I had hoped.  “Do not speak to her,” Jessica says taking a step towards the two male rogues.  Mandy moves beside her prepared to fight with Jessica.  Taking their cue, I move to Jessica’s other side ready to do what I could to help fight these rogues off.

“I love a good challenge,” the second wolf murmurs as he takes a step towards us.  Before he can take another step Jessica jumps into the air her clothes shredding from her body as she tumbles with the rogue male.  There are fierce growls and whimpers as they connect with one another.

Before I can focus on Jessica, the other male shifts and starts to stalk Mandy.  He is bigger than her.  She is not a match for him.  I am afraid for her and move closer to her.  She does not shift, waiting for the wolf to make his move.  He takes a couple steps forward until he is almost standing in front of Mandy.

I wait to see what she is going to do.  She continues to stare at the wolf, before she leaps towards him not shifting.  I am confused and watch with despair as he bites into her arm before she can wrap it around his neck.  Quickly shifting, she pulls her arm from his jaws and moves back starting to stalk the wolf.

She moves slowly around him, wanting to get to his back.  I can see what she is trying to do, but so can the wolf.  I can see him following her with his eyes, but he does not move.  As she takes her chance he moves out of the way, and she tumbles with a loud thump to the ground.  I am pretty sure I heard a rib crack under the pressure.

She whimpers as she moves to stand back up but before she can the wolf is there with a heavy paw on her chest.  I am startled to see his wolf’s erection as he stands over her.  I realize now what they meant by abuse out here.  I would not let anything happen to Mandy no matter what.  I move towards the wolf, behind him.  He is so focused on Mandy he does not realize I am now stalking him.

He is trying to position himself so he can take Mandy.  She is fighting to get out from under him but having no luck.  He rolls her over and throws his weight on top of her.  I needed to move quickly, or she would be violated in front of me.  I move forward and pull the rogue’s tail with all my strength.

The wolf yelps and turns around on me growling fiercely.  I step back not sure what I was going to do next.  I take another step back as he leaps to stand in front of me.  I see Mandy jump back up and leap on the rogue’s back.  Forgetting me he starts shaking trying to get Mandy off him, but she is holding on for her life.

She digs her claws into his neck, slicing through his flesh.  While it is not a kill bite, it is a painful death unless his wolf can heal him quickly.  She digs in again and again, as the rogue growls fiercely trying to get her off him.  He manages to get a hold of her scruff and pulls her from his back, tossing her against a tree.

I heard more bones break as her body slides to the ground.  She is passed out from the pain.  The rogue smirks as he shifts to his naked, human form.  “I guess it is just you and me, now wolf-less wolf,” he says as he moves towards me.
