Georgina Sinclair's POV:

I thought Lydia's knees would buckle with sheer delight when Marius told her the news. Tears filled her kind but aged eyes. Then she clasped her hands over her mouth before rushing to my side.

"Oh. My precious Lady Georgina... Thank you. Thank you for this wonderful gift. This is not only to Alpha Marius but to our entire pack."

All it took for my own feelings to overflow was for her to let her tears fall. My chest constricted and I started crying as well.

"Lydia..." I whispered. "You've always treated me like family. And now..."

A familiar pair of hands cupped my face before my tears could fall farther. Marius quickly appeared on my side and wiped my tears with his thumb.

"Sshh." he murmured and kissed my temple. "You're carrying our pup. I don't want you stressing yourself with tears. Leave the worrying to me."
