Astrid. The boxing court looked different than the last time I was in it. The floor was raised up to a few centimeters. A blue carpet was added at the top of the previous black one.My feet took steps towards the court. I held the upper and lower cod, creating a tiny space for me to get inside, which I did.I strode to the left side of the ring waiting for Amla to get in.She jogged around, waving at her pack members. A few of them waved back with shouts. She used the same method I used to get inside the court. Like she was noticing me for the first time, her face, which was full of strong facial muscles, twisted with disgust when she glanced in my direction. Her eyes ran over my frame before she bumped her glove fist together. She snarled at me like a lion threatening their prey. Veins appeared at the corners of her forehead. Had it been I walked into her before now, I would have considered her to be a man."At the count of three, you start." Darson's voice blared outside the co
Astrid.I passed through a bush of thick shrubs. The leaves of the shrubs were filled with dust. It looked like no one had been around here for the longest time because the dew would have been off the leave. However, it looked like that road wasn't passable anymore since all u could see was grass and not a footpath. Still, I continued my way through it. The dew-soaked on my clothes. A few grass sticks on my clothes.By the time I made it out through the forest, I exhaled when a clean motor-able raid came into view. I ducked into the back of the tree in front of me when a car sped by the road. Two people who seemed to be in a heated conversation stepped out of the pack entrance. Long forget memories immediately surfaced. The images of the pack members and me welcoming Jarvis from his two-year leave came to mind. I had been so excited to welcome him. Everyone was excited to meet him. But he had come with another plan in mind.I shook my head, reminding myself that I didn't come her
Astrid. The shock that took over me was nothing to write home about. I didn't know I had met Jarvis here. Actually, there was a possibility of seeing a pack member after Soren told me we were coming to the north, even though I didn't know which we were coming to, but the possibility was high. But seeing Jarvis at the fitness center was not what I expected. Blood trickled down his nose as he stared daggers up at Soren. They looked at each other like they had met before like they were mortal enemies and had promised death to each other the next time they met."How dare you touch her? Who gave you the right to place your hands on her?" Soren back, leaning down to give him another punch but I quickly duck between them, blocking his hit. How foolish of me right? I should have let him beat him to a pull or even watched Soren kill him.I knew for a fact that Soren would take him down in a matter of seconds. I have known Jarvis for the longest time and he wasn't the type to engage in a fi
Soren. It's been almost two weeks, and we haven't been able to come up with any idea or possible solution to deal with what awaited us.I would have gone back to Lady Ollina for her to better explain what she had meant by the stone and the female warrior. Yet, she didn't give explanations to anything. She spoke more in parables, and you had to be the one to find meaning in what she had said.I craned my neck from to side and leaned back into my desk. I picked up a red ballpoint. I flipped it between my index finger and thumb as my eyes scanned the screen before me.Ked was able to bring out the names of some hunters across Veridian. Hunters who were specialized in making weapons that could kill animals and those that were bigger than them. I wanted to see if any of them were able to come up with any idea of what we could do if there was any weapon that could be used on those beasts that were waiting to ravage us.We had come up with like ten names. Some which I heard were no longer
AstridFrostborn up in the North. I had been restless. I had news from Darson during our training this morning. How would I be able to reach up in the North to find out if everything was okay, if everyone was in good condition? My mind reeled at the thought of everyone being okay. Of course, they had done me wrong, but I had people in that pack that I cared for, and things like this normally made me worry. There was Amira in the pack. There were others and other innocent people who wouldn't have any choice but to stay in that pack, and listening to this really made my heart hurt. I had lost all will to train because I didn't know what to do anymore. "Why are you so worried about the people up in the North? I think they can do something, okay? See if they can come together. You know, put their heads together to come up with a possible solution just as we are doing here in the South. You don't really have to worry about them." I sat still across from Willa, my hands folded inside my ti
AstridI should be in my office right now, thinking about possible solutions to this upcoming problem. However, I have been with Astrid for most of the night. I have literally thought about the entire thing and couldn't come up with a possible solution. The Female Warrior, the Headstone, and all of that—nothing was even adding up. I decided to let it rest for a bit, and I would come back to it afterwards. I just needed to clear my mind of certain things, things that weren't adding up at all, and Lady Ollina wasn't someone that you could keep asking her for explanations over and over again. Once she said something, that was it. She wasn't giving any explanation, and she mostly spoke in parables, something that I didn't even quite understand. But then, I knew that there was a Female Warrior and a Stone somewhere that could be the possible solution to this problem that was about to come to us. Until then, we had to keep searching. Even when I had asked Astrid about the stone, she said sh
