The constant opening and closing of my door made me stir. The room was too noisy. I could hear hushed voices, footsteps, but the exhaustion in me wouldn’t let me stand up from the bed.

But when the curtains were pulled open, that was my last straw.

I sat up, a groan escaping from my lips, and the sight before me was—overwhelming.

Maids, racks of clothes, boxes of jewelries. And standing right in front of me with a robe was none other than Madam Aurora.

“What’s all this?” I asked, rubbing my eyes.

She looked puzzled before responding. “Good morning, Lyra. I hope you slept well.”

“Excuse my manners. Good morning. And I slept well.” I muttered, standing up and, one of the maids rushed to help me with my robe as if I were feeble.

“What’s the occasion, Madam Aurora? Why so many clothes?”

She took my hands gently, guiding me to the chair. “It may seem as though you've forgotten about your introduction.”
