"The horse might die with its baby,"

Arianna momentarily glanced at the two women a few paces away, speaking in worried tones, before continuing her work.

"Oh dear, and that’s one of the King’s favorite horses. There are barely any healers at the palace right now."

Her interest was piqued.

Arianna snapped her attention back to them. The King’s favorite horse?

Ignore them, Arianna. It’s none of your business, her mind whispered.

But as she continued working, her mind remained restless, her conscience eating her up for no damn good reason until she finally gave up. Before she knew it, she was heading to the barn.

The white horse lay on the floor, neighing painfully, its blood staining the soil as three healers tried to help the foal out.

Arianna's eyes assessed the situation for a moment, and without hesitation, she pushed her way through the crowd of onlookers and approached the healers.

"Let me help," she said.

The healers looked up at her, surprised by her sudden arrival. "Who are yo

Dark red-golden eyes pierced the darkness like twin orbs of fire. Its presence soffocating sending bone chills through the air.Its form like a terrifying demon, who just emerged from hell.Rickon hadn't been this terrified in his entire life. He saw his life flashed before him. The beast's claws grabbed his shoulder, lifted him effortlessly and tore him in half, blood splashing over the grass and wetting the soil. The other two trembling guards hastily shifted, spinning on their heels to flee. They barely took a step before their screams ripped through the forest-blood splattering as hideous claws slashed through them, tearing them apart in seconds.A growl rumbled from Duncan's chest as he turned his glowing deadly gaze to the last man standing: Atlas.Atlas' back was pressed against the wall, shaking violently, his pants soaked with his own urine. His gaze was fixed on the hideous monster lurking in the dark, staring straight at him. Those pair of reddish-gold eyes bore deep into

Voices. One, two... perhaps three or more.Seconds passed, and they slowly became clearer."I'm glad it's not going to rain anymore," one said."Better. I guess the material for the shelter will be of no use," another replied, a familiar voice that made Arianna's eyes slowly flutter open. Her blurry vision cleared, revealing green grass, soil, and trees. Her body ached, and her head reeled as she struggled to remember what had happened. She had been in her chamber when the maid brought her meal, but after eating, her body heated up. Her limbs gave out, and she crumpled to the floor before she could call for help. Now, she was here. It seems someone had drugged her.She tried to move, only to realize she was tied to a large tree.Oh, heavens. When would she ever get a moment's rest in this cursed place?"You're awake," the familiar voice pulled her from her thoughts. Her gaze lifted, meeting none other than Atlas, with four guards behind him.It was Rickon and his men. They had decided

"What is your plan for the Grand Festival?" a maid asked Brigid as they polished the golden candlesticks in the hallway."Nothing much, I just can't wait to watch the combat trials. I heard the strongest Alphas from every pack will compete. What about you?"The younger maid chuckled softly, adjusting a floral arrangement. "I'll be too busy serving wine and keeping the guests happy. The King wants everything to be perfect, especially with so many important eyes on him." She lowered her voice. "Besides, I heard Lady Valkyrie is going to be crowned and marked as his chosen mate and Grand Queen in front of everyone.""That rumor has been spreading for quite a while now," Brigid commented, her voice displeased."You don't seem very happy about it," the maid raised a brow."Simple. She is not the king's mate," Brigid shrugged. The truth was she dislike lady Valkyrie and her people."But isn't it good that, after so many centuries, the king is finally crowning a queen for himself?" the maid

Mother! Father! I must get them! • The Lycan King's Forbidden Craving    Chapter 44: To be a warrior

Lylah stepped into the barracks, nervousness and excitement washing over her. With a small smile, she watched the warriors train hard under the sun. Their swords flashed against each other, meeting with sparks as the warriors' eyes burned with determination. There were barely any females among them—two, no, just three out of so many warriors!Females were mostly seen as breeders, wives meant to stay at home and care for their offspring. They were regarded as fragile, something to be protected. But Lylah didn’t dream of that life. She wanted to be on the battlefield, fighting to protect her people while her sister ruled.Just the thought of it bought a sense of tranquility to every fiber of her being. She glanced at the scroll in her hand—the one Lord Lucas had sent a maid to give her, instructing her to deliver it to the head warrior.Lylah approached the large, broody man standing with sharp eyes, watching the training warriors with a commanding presence. A dark scar ran from his for

Hearing every word from her sister, Arianna couldn’t help the rage that burned inside her.Kael had tried to kill Lylah. That bastard.Clenching her jaw, Arianna—now dressed in her usual slave attire—muttered, "This is all my fault. If I hadn’t trusted him and listened to you, you wouldn’t have been forced to venture into the Dark Forest, almost killed by rogues, and brought here.""You promised not to blame yourself, Aria," Lylah reminded her."That doesn’t change the fact that it’s my fault," Arianna said, pacing the room. "I was the one who listened to the elders, got fooled by my bastard ex-mate, risked your life, and put our pack into the wrong hands. You could have been killed several times because of my stupid mistakes."Lylah swiftly set her meal aside, crossed the distance between them, and hugged her."Can you stop blaming yourself?" Lylah tightened her hold.Arianna’s eyes teared up, her chest heaving as emotions swirled in them."What if something worse had happened to you

"Is it about the slave? The new slave the king now possesses?" he questioned as the woman choked beneath him, struggling to breathe.Oh, poor girl."I was worried about that before, but not anymore," Valkyrie replied, keeping her voice steady. "I've got everything sorted out. You just don't need to worry."Ever since the King's warning, she had confined herself to her room, refused to eat, and cried so much. Thanks to the makeup, her brother wouldn't be able to see the dark circle around her eyes."No need to worry? The king has never once taken a slave into his own possession, and you asked me not to worry?"Just as the woman beneath him thought she was going to pass out, Toran finally let go of her head, letting her breathe for just a moment, before shoving his rod back in, choking her hard."Fuck," he cursed, not just because of the pleasure, and Valkyrie knew that fact.Valkyrie quickly assured. "The king has finally decided to crown me as his own Luna at the upcoming Grand Festiv

Falcon placed his fist on his chest. "Yes, Your Grace."Rickon let out a soft whimper, biting his lips hard. Tears were literally running down his face.Duncan waved his hand, dismissing them. As they left, his gaze settled on Arianna, who seemed to be trying to hold in her laughter by pressing her lips together. His eyes lingered on her. She shouldn't look this beautiful—that was why he had thought Nyra had done too much dressing her up when he first saw her.Smooth, radiant golden skin, high cheekbones, a sharp nose, and full lips. Especially when she released them from the pressure of biting, wet and inviting. No wonder the Lords and nobles went crazy in the grand court at her trial. Now that he thought of it, his expression shifted to a cold one.'Those bloody fools!' Ash growled beneath the surface, and Duncan agreed.'Mine is beautiful,' Ash muttered, the voice vibrating in his head like a soft melody, but Duncan said nothing, only staring as he continued studying her.The gown
