“Why did you lie to her?” Connor asked me as I groaned in pain, trying to sit up.

He couldn’t understand that we were dealing with someone as cruel as Kasper. He would do anything to have his way.

“Did she get home safe?” I asked Tyler, who seemed to be lost in his world.

“Tyler?”

He doesn’t respond as he seems to be lost in his thoughts, which is a first for him because he never does that and is always attentive, wanting to learn.

“Tyler?” I called out to him.

“Yes?” He snapped out of it as he looked between me and Connor.

“I asked you if she got home safe” I repeated myself which I rarely do, he took his hands out of his pockets as he glanced at me, waiting for a reaction from me

“Umm… am not sure. She ordered me to come back when she heard people approaching,” he replied, looking anxious as he said that.

I scoff, shaking my head in disbelief. He didn’t even ensure that he got her back into the house safely.
