Camilla's POV

My eyes flew open, as I felt sharp pain around my neck and head.

Picking my little phone, I checked for the date, only to realize what today was- 21st March, 2022, the day I had found out that Dane was my mate.

Oh my goodness, I had just gone back in time.

"You are here, Camilla." A voice called behind me, drawing me out of my thoughts. "I've been looking everywhere for you."

I turned to see that it was Natasha, the head maiden. “What for? Is there a problem?” I quizzed, a bit confused about all this.

“Have you forgotten your duties in this pack? Come on, get to work already!”

I nodded and got off, dragging my feet, while buying my mind in thought. This was real, it wasn’t a dream. I had just gotten another shot to change my fate.

“This time around, I would save myself,” I muttered with a deep breath, while heading for the hallway but halfway through, I heard a strange noise coming from the door that led to Dane's former chamber.

It was just as it happened in my past life but I hadn't cared enough to check what caused the noise. This time, I decided to find out, so I walked stealthily to the door and opened it. The first thing that caught my eyes was Dane's shoes and red heels tossed on the staircase.

He was definitely with a woman, I clutched the bodice of my dress, preparing my heart to take in what I was about to see.

I subconsciously hoped I would catch them in the act because that could be my justification for rejecting him.

As a lowly omega in violet sky pack, I knew well I had no right to reject an alpha figure, except I had a tangible reason… This had to be it.

My mind was preoccupied with so many thoughts that I didn't notice one of Dane's shoes lying on the floor. I tripped over it and I slid down onto the first landing. My derriere would be sore very soon but I felt nothing now.

“What the hell are you doing here?" A voice bellowed angrily above me. I looked up to see Dane's handsome face. He still looked good enough to make my heart flutter, but I was no fool anymore. I avoided his freezing gaze before standing up.

At that moment, I glimpsed Clara's face behind him and she flashed a smile at me. How could I not have remembered that she came to the palace that day?

She had been with Dane when I'd found out he was my mate. Then I remembered that she mentioned that they were friends.

How could I have been blind to the sparks which had been obviously flying between them? I plastered a stiff smile as I opened my mouth to make up an excuse.

"Mate!" The words escaped my lips as a string of intoxicating scent wafted into my nostrils.

He cocked his head in question and a frown creased his forehead. "How dare you!" He growled.

"You think you deserve to be my mate? How dare the moon goddess give me a lowly and filthy omega as mate. I'll never accept you!"

“Honey, take it easy. You know she’s my step sister,” Diane spoke up for me. It was now I realized that all her acts of care towards me were fake.

“You can drop the act already,” I said, turning to her with a smug look. “I’m sure if you had the chance, you would kill me,” I added. Exactly what she did to me in my past life.

I watched as her reaction changed, she looked bitter. “You stupid ingrate! How dare you speak to me like that?”

I stifled the smile that threatened to crawl up my lips. "I'm sorry if I hurt a nerve,” I said with sarcasm, turning back to the Alpha. “I know you two have something going on, please reject me for I do not wish to come in between the two of you or become a Luna to an Alpha like you.”

He looked taken aback for a minute before regaining his composure. “Do you have any idea of who you are talking to? Do you know what we can do to you?”

I scoffed, of course I knew already. “Kill me?” This was what I wanted to say but I remained quiet. I wasn’t supposed to get on their nerves, else they could repeat their actions.

"Camilla Lynch." I filled in. “My name is Camilla Lynch, please go ahead and reject me. I have duties to attend to now.” My voice was now calm as ever.

"I, Dane Cyprus rejects you, Camilla Lynch as my mate!"

It felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted from my check as I traced my gaze back to my stepsister. She didn't hide the delight in her gaze as she gave me a look as though she expected me to protest. But they were both in for a shock!

I held back the curse that was on the tip of my tongue. "I, Camilla Lynch accept your rejection!"

Without waiting for them to say anything, I turned and hurriedly left the chambers.

FOUR YEARS LATER

The summer breeze brushed my face as I walked out of the airport, looking elegant and sophisticated. I took in a deep breath as a limousine screeched to a halt in front of me.

The driver came down and opened the front door, bowing curtly to greet me. "Welcome back, Ma'am. The chairman is waiting for you."

I inclined my head as he flashed him a warm smile.

Four years had passed and I was now a famous designer at Belle Fashion and Cosmetics Company, which was currently the top company in the world.

Still, I hadn't given up on getting back at Dane for what he did to me in the past.

The moon goddess didn't just grant a second chance only to rectify my mistakes, she gave me an opportunity to pay back those bastards who hurt me in the past.

Revenge was a dish best served cold and this was the reason I waited for years before returning back to the Pack.

As I took a step, I lost my balance and staggered backwards. I was so sure I would fall but strong arms suddenly wrapped around my waist possessively, making me jerk my head around to look at my savior.

I found myself staring into the sea blue eyes of a goddess.

For a few seconds, I forgot where I was.

His face was perfectly sculpted and his jawlines and bow shaped lips accentuated his facial contour.

My gaze trailed to his red lips and I couldn't fail to notice how sinful they looked.

If there were men like this alive, how did I ever fall for a man like Dane?

The stranger exuded a chilling and domineering aura, the type that made people cower in fear.

Only, I wasn't scared. If anything, I was itching to run my hand along his finely chiseled chest that hugged his clothes firmly.

My breath hitched in my throat as I struggled for control.

I shouldn't be acting this way. The last thing I needed to get in my way now is lack of self control.

Before I could act, he spoke.

"Seen enough, Camilla?"

My face heated up in embarrassment and I felt like the earth should open and swallow me. I could have slipped out of my grasp.

Wait a minute! Did he just call me by my name? How did he know that?

I recoiled out of his arms, squinting my eyes in surprise.

Suddenly, a sleek back car screeched to a halt beside him and he got in, winking at me at the same time.

"See you later, Millie!"

And that was when I remembered I was quite popular now, so anyone could know my name.

Camilla’s POVThe studio had always been my sanctuary, a place where order existed and beauty could be controlled. Today, though, it felt fragile, as if one wrong word or glance could fracture it entirely. The walls gleamed under the soft light, mannequins stood poised, and every design I had poured hours into rested perfectly in its place. But the atmosphere was charged with something I couldn’t name. Every step I took, every adjustment I made to the folds of a gown or the placement of a sleeve, felt observed, scrutinized. The clients and investors were arriving for the private showcase, a carefully curated event meant to secure loyalty before the public presentation. Normally, this would be routine. Today, even the simplest introductions felt like walking into a minefield. The whispers started almost immediately: questions about my involvement with Luciano, speculation that I was leveraging connections, insinuations that my rise wasn’t earned it was bought. I ignored them. If I re

The moment I picked up my phone, I knew.Messages filled the screen missed calls, notifications, alerts from platforms I barely paid attention to. Names I recognized. Names I did not. Business partners. Competitors. Even people who had never had a reason to contact me before. But it was not the messages that mattered. It was the headlines.Everywhere I looked, my name was there, tied to one person. The Lycan King. Some articles tried to sound neutral, asking questions instead of making claims. Others were less careful, pushing quiet accusations beneath polished words. Why was I always seen with him?How long had the connection existed? Was it coincidence… or strategy?I did not need to read everything to understand the direction they were taking.By the time I arrived at the office, the shift was already obvious. No one said anything directly, but the atmosphere had c

Camilla’s POVThe word war lingered in the air long after I said it.For a moment, neither of us spoke.Luciano stood a short distance away, his posture relaxed, but there was a shift in him I could not ignore. It was not obvious. Most people would not have noticed it. But I did.Something had changed.“So,” he said at last, his voice calm but carrying a quiet weight, “he has decided to stop hiding.”I folded my arms, leaning slightly against the edge of my desk as I studied him.“This is not just anger anymore.”“No,” he replied, his gaze steady. “It is not.”He moved toward the window, looking out over the city below as if the answer to everything lay somewhere beyond the glass. The silence between us stretched, but it was not empty. It was filled with calculation, with tension, with the quiet understanding that whatever came next would not be simple.“An Alpha gathering is not something Dane can call without reason,” he continued. “Not after everything that has already happened.”“

Camilla’s POVWork had always been the one place where my mind could stay clear.Numbers made sense. Strategies made sense. Business followed logic. Unlike people, it didn’t twist emotions into something messy and unpredictable. That was exactly why I forced myself to come to the office this morning. After everything that happened last night with the council, Luciano, and Dane, the last thing I needed was to sit alone thinking about it.So I buried myself in work.My office sat on the top floor of the company building, surrounded by glass walls that overlooked the city. Organized.Controlled.Very different from the chaos that seemed to follow me lately.I flipped through a set of sketches book on my desk, reviewing a new contract proposal when the sound of raised voices outside my office reached my ears.At first, I ignored it.My employees were professionals. The warriors behind them shifted uneasily, their hands hovering near their weapons, unsure whether to draw them or lower them. And Dane…The smug satisfaction that had filled his face moments ago vanished.Luciano’s arm remained wrapped firmly around my waist, holding me close to his side as though the entire world needed to understand exactly where I belonged. The contact sent a wave of heat rushing through my body. The mark on my neck burned warmly, reacting instantly to his presence. My wolf stirred restlessly beneath my skin. But right now, the bond between us wasn’t the most shocking thing happening. The council leader stepped forward slowly, his sharp gaze locked on Luciano.“State your name again,” he said careful
