KEENA

With my head buried in my pillow I let out a childish scream. I know both Jarek and Ward heard me from outside of my room but I don't care. The delicious scent of peppermint fills my nose but it is not enough to calm the nerves that are raging inside me. Not even an hour ago my lips were pressed against Ward's and now my mate has decided that he wants me. Why does everything have to be so complicated?

The sound of my door opening breaks me out of my self loathing. Taking my head out of the pillow I raise it to see my mother standing in the doorway with a concerned look on her face. She is dressed in her normal jeans and t-shirt that drives my father insane, but she still manages to get away with wearing them. Gracefully she walks into my room and offers me a gentle smile.
