Chapter 52

KEENA

"Careful," I hiss at Ward as he climbs the stairs in the pack house.

Ward turns several shades of red as he looks in my direction. "Princess, I am doing much better," he says.

I roll my eyes as Ward limps pitifully up the stairs. The tough guy show that he is putting on for everyone else isn't fooling me. Even though the burns are healing on his body he still doesn't have much strength. Though he won't admit it his lycan still hasn't awoken since he inhaled all of the wolfsbane the night of fire.

When the doctors released him today I tried to argue with the doctor that he needed to stay longer but my pleas were ignored. The doctor thought that Ward would heal faster in the comfort of his own home. It didn't matter how much I grumbled or fought, I was out numbered. My family agreed that it was best for Ward to return to the pack house as well.

Ward slowly limps his way to his bedroom and I run to stop him. "You are staying with me," I tell him as I lead him toward
