Cyrus’s POV

“And what of your pack’s wolves? Why did they look like that?” I pressed, remembering what Dom told me about their wolves being deformed and over grown.

“He said it was a gift from his friends.” He coughed, spraying blood in the opposite direction of me.

“Said it would make us stronger.” I kicked at his ankles.

“I need more than that.” I growled.

“It was a liquid he gave them. It made the bigger and stronger but it had side effects. That’s why they looked deformed.”

I knew it wasn’t necessary, but I was still angry that he tried to kill Dom. I pulled the long needle from his cuticle and began to push it under another. His face twisted in pure agony.

“Please! I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you!” He cried out disoriented.

“Who is his friends?” I pressed.

“Druids! Druids! They were druids.” He answered frantically.

That was exactly what I was looking for. Dom had already informed me on the information he got from Benji. This only solidified what he already sus

Anastasia’s POV The constant uneasy energy of the dungeons always seemed to take me by surprise every time I walked in here. Dom and I walked silently next to each other. My skin still hummed from his touch. I hated this place. It had a way of reminding me of what I been through. I was free now, and in love with a man that I knew would protect me with his life. But there was always something that reminded me. We walked further in until I we stopped in front of a cell. In the far corner sat a woman, a witchy. She looked as if her life was slowly withering away. I had never seen her before, yet something about the way her eyes found me, too sharp, too knowing, made it feel as though she had always been waiting. “She was asking for you.” Dom’s voice rumbled low, a warning threaded through every word. The words snagged in my chest. I looked up at him in confusion. Why would she be asking for me? “Ah,” the woman breathed, standing to her feet. “Mate of the Lycan King,” s

Anastasia’s POVA long silence hung between us as we looked into each other’s eyes. I could feel the comfort and understanding projecting off of him, wrapping around me like a warm blanket. Finally, he broke the silence. “So you don’t regret being mated to me?" His eyes held so much vulnerability, it nearly took my breath away. It was something about the way he looked at me that turned me on. It was so sexy how he had no problem being open with me. I sighed, running a hand through his hair, needing to touch him in some way. "I would be a fool if I did." I answered truthfully. He was a total catch. No one in their right mind would reject him. A genuine smile spread across his face before he lifted me into the air and pressed his lips against mine. My body radiated with longing and warmth. Being entangled with his energy healed any anxiety I came here with. I needed more of him and just as I expected, he obliged, carrying me over to his desk and ripping the fabrics that shielde

Anastasia’s POV “And when we do, they will suffer.” Benji added. There was a pause before someone broke the silence. “That’s not all we needed to discuss.” Dom stated as he walked over to me, leaning against the front of his desk across from me. I did my best to refrain from showing any emotions. I missed him, and having him this close to me only made me want to just up and hug him. But he was still mad at me. That was clear in his gaze. “The blood moon is approaching soon, and according to the witch we have in our dungeon, it’s the second stage of this prophecy.” He has a witch in his dungeon? And wait- “Prophecy?” I listened as they filled me in on what I was missing. The prophecy settled heavy in my stomach, only adding to the anxiety I was struggling to hide from him. Redeemer, guardian, omnipotent, it all felt so serious. When I was younger, I remember over hearing my mother speaking with High Priestess Sage about it, but I was so young, it didn’t stick that

Anastasia’s POV I finished with the moonpetal, carefully transferring the salve into a small jar and straightened my tunic. It was a simple forest-green linen, lined with golden floral patterns. Mrs. Hazel gifted it to me when she came to acknowledge me as high priestess. I swiftly pushed back a stray strand of my dark hair. My reflection in the polished surface of my wooden table showed a woman with tired eyes. I was gonna need to pull on my magic to get me through this meeting. I managed to find a way to suppress my feelings from him, letting him in every now and again so that he wouldn’t notice but it took a lot of energy to do so. I had to. It was the only way to keep him from asking me every five minutes if I was okay. The burden of feeling my covens emotions were weighing. I needed to appear healthy and strong, that way he wouldn’t try to read my mind again. The walk from my home to Dom’s study felt longer than usual. I was anxious and doing the best I could to keep

Dom’s POV Her eyes glazed over, losing their focus, but they never left me. “The twenty-first,” she whispered, her voice slowly changing. It multiplied, sounding as if multiple voices were speaking through her. “The wheel is turning. The veil is thinning. And the first step… ah, yes. The first step is always the hardest, isn’t it, Lycan King?” The expected smile didn’t come, instead, she looked very serious. Her void eyes stayed locked onto me. The whole encounter felt disturbing. “The first step,” she rasped, her head shaking slowly, “Was completed. The seal of purity has been broken.” My brows furrowed. Benji, standing a respectful distance behind me, shifted with clear frustration. “The seal of purity?” I repeated, tried to solve this invisible puzzle her words created. “What in the actual fuck are you talking about, witch?” Her eyes, still unfocused, now seemed to be looking through me, past me. A low hum came from her throat before she spoke again. “In

Dom’s POV “Crimson moon… a redeemer rises… fallen guardian… an Omnipotent… blood of blood… emerald gaze,” I murmured, the words feeling like stones in my mouth as I mirrored Amos, pacing my office in thought.“This is too much to leave to chance. Too much to dismiss without trying to understand it further.” I couldn’t keep my mind in one place. “The exact timing was always considered irrelevant without the preceding events. But now…” He trailed off, the implication hung in the air. My gaze fell to the prophecy again before I looked back up at Benji’s worried face. There was only one source we would have to go to. The only one who might have a deeper understanding of all of this. “The witch,” I stated. “We’re gonna have to talk to her again. It’s the only way we’re gonna get answers.” Benji’s expression tightened. “Are you sure, your majesty? She’s a witch… do you trust she wouldn’t give you false information?” “Well, she hasn’t lied yet.” I conceded, heading towards t
