CHAPTER 16

Esme’s POV

Three days ago, when I had stood in the same room with most of them, I had been worried out of my mind and a little afraid. But after surviving that desert and getting my Lycan, I didn’t feel the same way again, and I returned every gaze with an equally sharp one.

Unlike most of them here, I had a lot of experience leading people, and I had most of them looking away in seconds. However, my gaze stayed a little longer on a blonde-haired girl that I hadn’t seen in the first meeting.

She was beautiful and elegant, and she stood out from everyone around her just by sitting there. But the most important thing was the challenge I felt from her gaze. Who was this?

“I woke up this morning,” I finally replied to Kathie and ignored the side glare that she was giving me. If she could take her time in seeing me, there was no reason why I had to give her immediate replies.

“Next time, you need to listen to me or anyone from here so you don’t make mistakes like that.”
