Aviana's POV

Damian kept to his word. Before the crack of dawn the next morning, we were out of the Moonstone pack and on our way to his home.

The silence was deafening as we journeyed through the forest.

As the Lycan King, Damian traveled with several men and guards, two heavily armed people on each side while one was stationed at our back and in front.

We made use of horse ride and since I was an unexpected addition, we all had to share one carriage.

After what Damian said to me last night,

  • The Lycan's Contract Luna   CHAPTER 13:She's My Luna!

Damian's POV Lucas and I walked up the steps to the King's Court building. It's used to be called something else but when my father took over as the Lycan King, he made several changes and honestly, I wasn't interested in changing anything else. Except for removing the concept of Council. If it wasn't for the fact that they were an important pillar in the pack, I would have had them scrapped a long time ago. “Are you sure I need to attend this meeting?” I huffed, throwing an annoyed glance at Lucas.“Last time I checked, you are the King so…” he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “You know you could have avoided all of this if you had just listened to me.”I already knew what he was going to say and I was not in the mood to hear it. “Don't even think about saying it. We've already gone down this road.”He shrugged, throwing up his hands in exasperation as we stopped at the front doors. “You can't blame me for trying. You ready?”“Always.” I pushed the doors open, instantly

After what Damian said to me last night, I couldn't stop thinking about it and when I saw him the next morning, the feelings rushed to the surface.I also couldn't stop thinking about the baby in my belly.I have no idea how far along I was and it's only a matter of time before it became visible. I only had a limited window to either come clean to Damian or … make him believe the child is his. That thought rides me up until the carriage slows to a stop and Lucas snaps his gaze to the side. Then he looks to Damian. “We're here. Are you

  • The Lycan's Contract Luna   CHAPTER 11: He's Not For Me

Aviana's POV I have never felt so angry in my life. After Damian's weird behaviour and instructions, I went back to the pack to search for Lucas.Unfortunately, I couldn't find him, and just as I wanted to hide out in Damian's quarters, Patricia showed up.I had planned to ignore her, but she knew just the words to piss me off and coax a reaction out of me.I've always believed myself to be level-headed and patient, but after what I've been through the past few days, I was ready to fight back. That was why when Patricia said,“How much of yourself did you offer to the King to make him pity you and make you a Luna?” I didn't hold back and retorted, looking straight into her eyes.“I don't know. Probably the same amount that you offered to Phillip.”By now, a small crowd had gathered, eagerly waiting for drama to erupt, but luckily for us, Damian showed up at the right time, his face twisted with annoyance.“What the hell is going on here?!” He bellowed, looking for me to Patricia.I

Damian's POV My senses went on alert once I saw the arrow. I instantly crushed it in between my palms, allowing the broken pieces to float away.Aviana moved from behind me, trying to see what was going on. “What happened?”Realizing that my body was blocking her view, I stayed in position, scanning my surroundings.I didn't see or hear anything that let me know if there was someone watching, but I had to make sure.I turned around, ensuring that my body was still protecting Aviana's, bending low so we were on eye level. “I need you to do something for me.” “What is it? You're scaring me.” She turned around to look, but my hands came down to clamp on her shoulders.“Listen to me!” I gritted out through clenched teeth, my heart beating fast from fear. Not for myself but for her. For the woman I’d known for a few hours.“I'm going to need you to run. Just turn around and run towards the festival. Look for Lucas and tell him I said ‘Mono’. Did you understand that?”Her eyes became eve

  • The Lycan's Contract Luna   CHAPTER 9: The Announcement

Damian's POVI would like to think that not much fazes me as a man.Not the power that bubbled in my veins or the Council, or the greedy Alphas that served under me, foaming at the mouth to take over my position once given the slight opportunity.I used to pride myself on displaying a remarkable sense of self-control, but the moment I set my eyes on Aviana, it's like a young pup with no control over my emotions.I let my eyes stray to her face, asking more questions just to hear her speak and watch the defiant spark in her eyes.Contrary to what I told her, I didn't come here to search for a Luna, nor did I have the intention of claiming one so soon, but when I saw her tiny body struggling to climb over that fence, I just knew I had to help. And now that I was about to make a decision I couldn't take back, I wondered if I was doing the right thing.I schooled my facial expression into neutral, pushing through the thin curtain that separated me from the rest of the pack. The warm, happ

  • The Lycan's Contract Luna   CHAPTER 8: The Agreement

Aviana's POV I watched the man whose name was Lucas stagger back a step. He snorted after a second, opening his mouth to speak, but he changed his mind at the last moment, throwing a glance at me. “Uh, sorry, but could you excuse us? There's something I need to discuss with the King.”I pull away from Damian, about to head outside, but I had barely taken a step when Damian's hand loosely circled my wrist in a tight grip.“She's not going anywhere. As I said, she's going to be my Luna, so anything you have to say to me, you can say it in front of her.” Damian spoke up, his words ringing with power. Lucas threw a disbelieving look his way. “Surely, she can excuse us for a minute? This might be… sensitive.”Damian stared right at Lucas but didn't budge. “As I said, you can speak.”“Fine, you forced my hand!” Lucas grumbled, throwing an apologetic look my way. “Please tell me you're not serious about… this.” He waved a hand towards me like I was some dirty object.“Elaborate,” Damian

Aviana's POV I don’t know how I made it back to my room with all the pain I felt.I kept one hand on the wall. Putting one foot in front of the other. Aviana's POV I had stopped counting days. What was the point? The days came and went the same way … dark, cold, the thin line of light under the door brightening and fading and brightening again. My body had stopped feeling much of anything since the betrayal. The bond’s absence was a dull perman
