Chapter 3

My flesh tore open with blood oozing and pouring out profusely, drowning me in a heart wrenching pain that can't be explained with words. My left hand was bloody as I clutched the cut with it, breathing heavily with no strength to scream. I could only gasp for air, staring into the eyes of the devil I had as a father.

His eyes were still cold with no trace of pity.

"Don't you know you deserve more than this?" He bellowed as he stood upright since he had been crouching all this time.

I heard his question, but it was faint in my ears as I began to lose consciousness from loss of blood. The agony blasting through me on seeing my father attack me with a knife was the most horrific sight, and now even as I bled profusely, there was no care. He really wants me dead.

Everything was vanishing from my eyes; every sound was faint.

"Where is my bracelet? You won't still talk or should I stab your heart?" He threatened with his teeth gnashing while I stared without saying a word. My lips pressed together in a line with hot tears pouring down my eyes.

The cut from the blade was stinging and blazing like fire. so painful to bear that my heart clenched tightly.

My eyes were shutting as more blood spilled around me. How can he still ask for his bracelet?

Is this a monster or a demon? He can't be a werewolf like me. He can't be my father!

"Where is my...." His yell was cut short as the door was kicked opened so hard with someone running in.

"Alpha, I found the bracelet in your room, under your bed. It must have fallen off and slipped beneath yesterday night." A different voice said those word, shooting a sharp pang in my heart.

I was wounded by my father for nothing. Now he found out I took nothing. He found out Aurora was lying.

Tears stung my eyes and streamed down as the excruciating pain around my arm spread through my body, seizing my breath.

"Take her away and stop the bleeding." My father ordered, and I could sense no sentiment or pity from his voice.

I pray I die someday and never wake up to see the light again. Maybe that would make the sadist I had as a father feel satisfied.

Alpha Sean's POV

"Where did you find it?" I asked with a snort as I spun and took the bracelet from the pack warriors' leader, Stan.

His face was drawn and he seemed to be forcing down some sort of emotion as Ava was taken away, her blood created a red streak along.

"Like I had mentioned, Alpha, I found it beneath your bed." He responded under his breath, fixing his gaze on me while I checked the bracelet thoroughly to be sure it was really the one I was looking for.

For sure, it was it, and I couldn't help feeling my cheeks flush a bit as his eyes rested on me.

"Ava didn't steal it then. She wasn't lying." He shrugged, and then bowed before leaving. His tone and expression showed how angry and pained he felt. I was really embarrassed at how far I went without searching for it well. It was clear my hatred for Ava was beyond understanding. Why won't I hate her?

My greatest regret is being her father. Seeing her alone makes me wish she had no royal blood, so I could slit her throat. I badly want her dead because she deserves to die! There was absolutely no meaning to her being alive. She is useless.

My Luna and son are gone forever just because of her. Why would she be the one to come out alive, and those sapphire blue eyes aren't normal? There are many reasons to term her a curse. I won't stop inflicting pain on her till she takes her life.

With a deep grunt, I stamped back to my room, my head banging as the memories of the past came rushing in. Those moments when Selene was beside me as my Luna. There was no woman that could beat her in a beauty pageant with her perfect figure. Those blue eyes and oval face with heart shaped lips that were always glossed. Her blonde hair, which cascaded down to her back, and her graceful steps while walking with her golden robe.

She appeared so angelic and was the peace every man wanted. I took care of her personally all through the months she was pregnant. Every night, I massage her feet, I bathe her, and I satisfy all her cravings. Every single thing she needed was delivered to her instantly.

Words can't explain how I waited patiently for her to be put to bed and be released from the stress of pregnancy while delivering an heir to my throne. I made certain that the best doctors and nurses were present to care for her during labor, only for tragedy to strike.

That night was horrifying as her screams of pain echoed through walls and pillars. She was crying in intense pain that I couldn't bear waiting outside. I barged in to check on her myself, and that was the most terrifying scene I had ever seen.

The scene would keep flashing back every time I set my eyes on Ava, and that is why I deeply hate her from the core.

My wife was in the pool of her blood with her body convulsing in excruciating pain while she kept breathing heavily.

I saw as she kept pushing hard with all her strength, only for the baby to insist not coming out like it was sent to murder her.

"Kill the baby and save my wife!!" I had commanded, only for her to wag her head vigorously and push harder, finally forcing the baby out.

"She is a girl."

"They are twins!" The other is a boy. "

Those were the two words I heard before the worst happened right in front of my eyes.

Selene's entire body began to shake violently. Blood was now gushing out of her mouth. There was no strength to breathe. Just like a nightmare, she collapsed, her breath seized, and she died. My mate died in front of my eyes, leaving me with the baby that took her life. Not even my son could come out alive.

I slammed shut the door of my room in fury, falling heavily on the bed as hot tears seared my sockets.

Just then, a knock came on my door, and I frowned deeply, rising from my bed and feeling my salty tears roll down my cheeks and into my mouth. I was really pained, and even though it had been so many years, I still couldn't stop the pangs in my heart each time I recalled her.

I had removed all of her portraits and gotten drunk several times in an attempt to forget, but it was nearly impossible. My brain still has those memories of her stored in it.

"Alpha, I have something to tell you." I heard Aurora's voice from outside.

"You lied about seeing Ava take my bracelet. Even if I don't care about Ava, why will you lie to me? A mere omega!" I bellowed in anger, wondering what was wrong with Aurora that I picked up from the gutter. What the hell gave her the guts to lie to me? Even if she hates Ava, I hate lies.

"I was not lying. Let me in, please...I just found something, " she pressed on and my curiosity rose to its peak, pushing me up from the bed as I hurried to open the door.

"What do you have to say?" I inquired just immediately I opened the door.

She had her head bowed even after she had stepped in.

"Alpha, have you heard anything about Demon spies?" She asked gently, as if she was afraid of her own voice. Her statement made me confused as I peered at her with a questioning look.

She raised her gaze and handed a scroll in her hand to me.

"I found this in the pack library last night," she mumbled, and I took it

"What is it about demon spies?" I asked while opening the scroll.

"I think Ava is one of them," she replied softly, bowing lower, her statement made me shudder a bit

My eyes scanned through the write-up in the scroll, and for the first time in my life, I felt real fear spread through me.

~Sapphire blue eyes.

~Taking their mother's life at birth

~Acting weak and loyal while they spy with evil embedded in their hearts.

Those were the characteristics of every demon spy as written in this scroll.

"Does it mean that Ava is a demon?!" I gasped, throwing a sharp look at Aurora who had her hands clasped backwards, bowing humbly.

"She is very likely to be. So we have to check her real identity." Her reply came fast, like she was waiting for this question.

"Using the wolfsbane and silver is really a gruesome torture" I fumbled, unsure if I should really use it on Ava.

This is the greatest pain anyone could ever go through as it strikes deep into the soul, breaking every bone and causing the cells in the body to fight each other.

But only this way can a suspected wolf be proven not to be a demon or vampire in disguise.

It had been tested among slaves bought from other packs and it had really exposed some who had hidden in the disguise of wolves while they were vampires and demons sent for destruction.

"I am very sure she is a demon spy and had used her magic powers to get the bracelet back under the bed when you threatened her with the knife, because that could only explain why you didn't see it on the table where you always keep it. Don't you think so?" Aurora's words rang like a bell in my head, and my mouth went agape at how truthful her words sounded.

Gosh!

Ava might really be a demon, and once I find out, she must be killed instantly.
