Chapter 41: The Innocent One

“Well, you certainly are one dramatic child.” A voice said, making me sit up and look at the face I haven’t seen in a long time.

It was my mother dearest.

At least legally she was still my mother…

As usual, she was dressed to perfection in her baby-pink coloured business suit with a crisp white shirt underneath. She carried her too expensive to be of any use purse in her hand.

Her make-up was done to perfection and her face showed no emotions at all.

“Learned from the best.” I shrugged, putting the book that I was reading to the side.
