Anastasia:

I sat beside Elijah as soft music played in the background.

The two of us went out of the hall to the veranda because he wanted to smoke, and have been sitting there since.

“Thank you for today” I said suddenly. Elijah turned to look at me, waiting for me to explain what it was I was going about. A glass of whiskey was in his hand and I smiled taking it from him, taking a sip. He smirked and took the glass from me, setting it on the table beside him.

“It may not have Aphrodisiac, but I don’t trust you with alcohol anymore” he teased “and what are you thanking me for?”

“Your patience, what you did, putting in a word, introducing me to the men you call your partners, speaking to them ahead of time” I said turning to face him as to look him in the eye. His eyes were fixed on my own for a second too long before he nodded.
