LOGINCeline’s POV
I walked down the stairs and stopped in front of Sabrina. I crossed my arms while relaxing back a bit, a wide smirk on my face. Sabrina’s face squeezed into a hard frown. She clutched and forced herself to smile. “You really are so spoilt like the rumors said,” she let out. I snorted. “What can you do about this?” I asked. She took a step forward, her eyes filled with malice. Probably thinking of strangling me. That made me even more excited; I was crushing her without even trying. “You think Dave would keep you forever?” Her expression turned into a smug one. “Soon, he’s going to discard you.” I paused, her words managed to shoot an arrow at me. I didn’t know why, but for a second there, I felt afraid. I clenched as I slowly breathed in. “Dave will never abandon me,” I told her. Sabrina burst into laughter suddenly, the action made me frown hard. I clenched my jaws, wanting to tear that smile off her lips. “What’s funny?” I snapped at her. She stopped and glared directly at me. “That you think your little crush on him would mean anything,” she replied sharply. “Four years ago, he took you in because of guilt. He helped your father’s company,” Sabrina added. I stared at her, lips parted slightly. My courage seemed to fail me for no reason as I listened to her. “Now, he wants to live his life with me. You wouldn’t be such a pest and continue to leech off of him, will you?” A hard smirk tugged at her lips, her eyes filled with contempt as she looked at me. My expression hardened to mask my hurt with anger. I stepped closer to her, gritting my teeth as I raised my hand to hit Sabrina. But then, I heard Dave’s voice. Quickly, I threw myself on the floor and let out a hard scream. “Aha!” Everyone was thrown into confusion at my sudden action. I gripped my face and lifted teary eyes at Sabrina, who looked shocked to see my act. “I’m sorry, Sabrina,” I cried out. Her eyes widened slowly, before she had the chance to respond, Dave rushed forward to me. He slowly picked me up from the floor, and I let him, pretending to be weak. “Are you okay?” he asked worriedly. I gave a feeble nod, and turned to Sabrina, who was standing there, mouth agape. “She wants me to leave. She said I was a pest,” I told Dave. His countenance shifted instantly, a dark, smoldering look settled across his face as he turned to Sabrina. “Did you really say that to her?” Dave asked, his voice dropping into a dangerously quiet tone. Sabrina’s confidence faltered. She swallowed hard, her eyes widening as she struggled to meet his gaze. “I…I didn’t say…” she stammered, her voice suddenly barely above a whisper. I tried to hide my smirk. I tugged at Dave’s arm and blinked up at him with a soft, weak gaze. “Did you see me as a leech too?” I asked, my eyes closed to tears. Dave’s glare hardened against Sabrina. “From now on, you’re not allowed to come here without my permission,” he ordered. Then he lifted me into his arms in a swift move. I clung my arms around his neck and grinned. Sabrina grabbed him, looking furious. “We just got engaged. You can’t…” she tried to argue. Dave interrupted her. “Jeff, see her out.” With that, he carried me upstairs, not glancing back at Sabrina, who shouted after him as she was thrown out. Satisfaction fueled my heart as I rested in Dave’s arms, I relaxed my head against his chest and took in his cologne. He’s mine. ** When we got to the bedroom, Dave dropped me onto the bed with a thud. I let out a low grunt and stared up at him, wondering what he meant by that. But his cold face met mine, I cowered immediately. “Are you done acting?” he asked. I blinked rapidly, certain I had heard wrong. My mouth fell open as I stared at Dave. How did he figure out I was lying? I gulped down quickly and turned my face away, picking up a pillow and clinging to it. “She started it,” I mouthed. “Who the hell does she think she is, coming here and spewing nonsense?” I bit my lower lip as I tried to suppress my anger. Dave moved close and took his seat at the edge of the bed. He remained silent for a moment, and I thought that he might scold me. “Do you hate her so much?” he suddenly asked, his voice surprisingly soft. I was caught completely off guard by the unexpected gentleness in his voice. My brows lifted in surprise, and my expression faltered as I stared back at him. “Yes,” I answered in a breath. “Will that stop you from marrying her?” I asked, and gazed into his eyes, waiting anxiously for his answer. He didn’t answer immediately; instead, his hands gripped my shoulders gently. His gaze held mine. “Whether Sabrina or not, I have to get married someday,” he said. I paused. So it doesn’t matter who? “Marry me,” I breathed out, my gaze still holding his. My lips parted slightly as I watched his expression. He looked completely still, and it frightened me. I meant it; I want him to be mine forever, no one else. In that moment, a dangerous thought crossed my mind, and as I thought of executing it, my heart slammed a little harder against my chest. I bit my lips a little hard, feeling too nervous. I braced myself and shifted my eyes to his lips. Those gorgeous temptations were staring right back at me. I hesitated, moving slowly. My face leaned in carefully, my lashes flicked a bit as my lips touched his. The sensation sent a cool chill down my spine. My breath stopped in a rush of panic and excitement. It tasted just as I imagined, even far better. It made me feel greedy for more. Dave didn’t react still. So, I decided to take that as a sign to go ahead and make more moves, but I was suddenly pushed back in a hard pull.Celine's POVFaye grabbed my glass and glared at me."Boss will kill me if you go back home drunk," she said.I scoffed, and pushed her hand off."Don't be uncool now," I took a mouthful of the drink. It's sweet, yet intoxicating. Just like how Dave's lips tasted.I wanted to drink more, but Faye stopped me again."You can have fun without getting drunk," she said.I sighed and tried to grab the drink away, but she beat me to it and drank it down.A little chuckle left my lips. I rested my hand on the table and my face on my palm."You know, I didn't like you at first," I blurted. "I thought you'd be another Sabrina.""That bitch," I cussed, heat rising on my face in hate as I thought of her.Faye poured herself another drink. "She really is."My eyes flashed up hearing her agree with me. A happy chuckle escaped me as I lifted my head up."You think so too? Annoyingly, Dave didn't think that."I said, my face turning blue. The moment was interrupted by Tyra, who appeared with three gu
Celine's POVI pulled at Dave's arm to stop him, but he was just too stubborn. He had insisted on walking me right to the classroom. I looked frantically around as a few students glanced in our direction, murmuring as they walked past. When we got to the classroom, he let go of my hand and turned to me. "Faye will be waiting for you. Don't go anywhere else," he said.I wanted to refuse, but I nodded. The lecturer was coming in now. I pulled away from him and hurried into class. I found Tyra and quickly sat beside her, my gaze shifting to the door, Dave was still standing there.I noticed the attention he was getting without even making an effort, and a jealous frown crept onto my face. Then I decided to do something, to show that he was already mine.I looked in his direction and blew a hard, loud kiss at him before giving a flirtatious wink. That caught everyone's attention and they all turned to me; some immediately wore an upset expression while others became jealous."Girl, you're
Celine's POVI continued to walk ahead and Faye followed behind. When I saw that she was close enough, I halted suddenly and turned to confront her."I have to go this way," Faye spoke before I could.I blinked, surprised. She didn't wait, and turned to the left and began to walk away. Was I wrong? I scrunched up my face. Did he really let me go without a guard? I should feel good, but crazily, I felt upset.Just as I stomped my feet and was about to continue, Ethan suddenly appeared. I almost jumped backward, a frown invading my expression. Before I could think to scream, the boys with him charged forward and covered my mouth. They dragged me with them and stopped at a secluded place, throwing me against the wall."We meet again," Ethan said, moving forward. My feet shifted back slowly, watching my steps and looking for a direction to escape. "Unfortunately," I muttered. He chuckled, the sound making my face scowl harder."You still owe me, Celine Sawyer," his voice turned hostile ag
Dave's POVThe moment Celine walked back inside, I turned to Faye."She doesn't seem to like you."Faye lifted her head and walked closer, standing beside Jeff."It will take time, but I will charm her soon," she replied.I nodded.Knowing how much Celine hates bodyguards, I needed a way to keep one closely by her side."Make sure she doesn't suspect anything," I added, and turned to Jeff.He handed me the report for the monthly data of our businesses in Atlantic City. The numbers were a bit disturbing, I might as well deal with that while I'm here.I still had my eyes focused on the screen when Celine walked back out.I moved to set down the tablet, glancing at her when my eyes caught what she was wearing. I stopped halfway. My eyes trailed from the curve of her shoulder down to the sway of the fabric against her waist.Heat crept up my neck and my throat felt dry, my hand tightened around the phone and I straightened. She put on a smile the second our gazes caught, a sweet, innocent
Dave's POVFuck! I really want to kiss her right now.The clothes she's wearing, I could see her body. The soft delicate skin seemed to glow the more I stared at her.I clutched my hand that rested against the dresser and tried to keep a hard expression to conceal what I was actually feeling."You can get angry at me, but never lock me out," I warned, staring in between her eyes. Her jaw tightened in anger as she tried to turn away from me again. I stopped her, yet my gaze flipped just for a second to her neck. That would be crazy, I told myself, but then I leaned down before I could stop myself and my lips crashed against her soft skin.I gave her a bite, restraining myself from actually tasting her. She seemed shocked and stiff for a moment, but she didn't stop me.That made me greedy for more. I lost control in the blink of an eye, and my grip tightened around her chin as I tilted her head a little for better access.I bit a little too hard and she let out a cry. I paused for a sec
Celine's POVBefore I could get a word out, he threw me over his shoulder. "Dave!" I yelled, punching his back. He didn't stop, nor did he let go.He took me to the car and threw me inside like I weighed nothing. I let out a grunt, just to deceive him, to make him think I was hurt, and that worked. He halted and moved closer.I ran a slap across his face immediately, breathing hard. "Stop trying to control my life," I bellowed.Dave clenched his jaw; he looked furious, but I didn't care. All I cared about was that he'd scared Max away, that he'd ruined my normal life. Now Max was going to spread rumors, and everyone would stay away from me again."What was that for?" he turned to me, jaw tightened."For scaring my boyfriend away. You have no right," I yelled at him.He moved fast and got into the car, forcing me to move in. His hands gripped the door behind me, and he glared into my eyes."Do you know your so-called boyfriend was sent to monitor you?"I paused for a second, searching
