CHAPTER 44

Inside the four corners of the room, there are books, files, and figurines placed perfectly inside the cabinets. There's a medium chandelier placed above the ceiling, and the aircon is at a suitable temperature, but my blood boils.

Grey is kneeling in front of me with his hands together. "Forgive me, Thalia," he pleads. "You betrayed me, Grey!" I said to him.

Giovanni told me everything he learned from Grey. "I am caught off guard, Thalia. Your husband is something!" he said as he looked at Giovanni standing while holding a book. "He threatened me that he would deport me to the Philippines!" he added.

I rolled my eyes. "Did you not believe me when I told you I got your back?" I asked him. He looked down as he pouted. "I believed you, but I don't want to put you both in turmoil because of me," he muttered.

"So you chose to betray me?" I asked him mockingly.

"It's not like that, Thalia, I swear!" he pleaded.
