Luca:

The wedding was over, and we were back in the penthouse.

Bringing Cassie back here after the mess at the wedding should have felt like winning. Instead, all I could think about was how close they’d come.

Her mother sat on the couch, a half-empty cup of tea in her hands. She looked like she hadn’t slept in days — even though she didn’t know everything that had really happened.

Cassie walked in behind me, still in her wedding dress. She looked exhausted — but she held her shoulders straight for her mum’s sake.

Her mother stood and pulled her in. “My baby,” she whispered. “You looked so stunning today.”

Cassie let out a small laugh against her shoulder. “Thanks, Mum.”

Her mother brushed her cheek with her thumb. “Are you sure you’re alright? It all just happened so fast.”

Cassie nodded once. “I’m fine.”

Her mother turned to me. She tried to smile, but her hands trembled a little as she reached for mine. “Thank you, Luca. For everything. I know you’ll keep her safe.”

I took her hand

Luca:“Wow… it was like I didn’t even exist. You might as well get a room for tonight.” Cassie’s words hit me as soon as Silvie walked away.“It’s not like that with us,” I said, trying to stay calm. “Silvie’s just excited for tips. I used to be a regular here.”But I could already see the disbelief in her eyes.“It clearly looked like she wanted you under her pants,” she snapped, that fake smile stretching across her face as she lifted the glass and gulped what was left of the wine.I reached out slightly. “I think you should slow down on the drinking Cassie.”“Don’t tell me what to do!” she cut me off sharply. She reached for the wine bottle again, pouring every last drop into her glass and downing it all in one go. Her cheeks were already flushed from the alcohol , and I could see her getting tipsy. And then her voice changed.“Even on our wedding day, Luca…” she said, softer this time, more broken than angry, “you let that blonde bitch walk up to you and touch you in all the wrong

Cassie:Luca and I arrived in Italy. The moment I stepped into the villa, I forgot how to breathe.I’d only seen places like this in movies…..polished marble floors, wide glass windows overlooking a lake so clear it looked fake, soft white curtains blowing with the breeze. It was breathtakingly beautifulLuca hadn’t said a word since we landed. He just held my hand lightly and guided me through the stone courtyard, past the iron gates, and up to the front steps“This is… wow,” I said, turning slowly in the entryway. “You rented this entire place?”“No,” he said, loosening the cuffs of his shirt. “It belonged to my late father.”“Oh, like a vacation home for your family?” I asked“Yes. We spent some summers here. I have a lot of childhood memories too,” he replied, glancing around with a nostalgic look in his eyesA man in a chef’s apron appeared, speaking softly in Italian. Luca answered fluently, then turned to me“Dinner will be ready at seven. We’ll eat on the terrace.”I looked ar

Luca:I got back upstairs after making sure Matteo took care of the body dumped on my property.Maybe this was Renzo giving me a sign that he was going to hit me where it hurt the most, when I least expected it. I needed to remind him again. I had to stay ten steps ahead. He needed to be put in his place once and for all.But first ..... Cassie.I didn’t like the idea of my staff spreading rumors about today’s incident. I didn’t like it one bit. So I texted Matteo quickly.Me: Make sure all the staff sign a non-disclosure agreement today. No one is to speak of what happened or what they saw. Especially not to Cassie.Matteo: Yes, Boss!I felt a little peace after that. Now, I believed it was time for Cassie and I to go on our honeymoon especially now that eyes were watching us.I stopped by my office briefly before heading to my bedroom door and spotting Elias guarding it like his life depended on it.He was quiet and proper, as always, and gave me a small bow before walking away.C

Renzo:I sat in the far corner of my port warehouse, the salt from the bay mixing with diesel fumes and the wet stink of crates that’d been dragged halfway across the ocean. The air was cold, but sweat stuck under my collar. The lights overhead flickered once, but I didn’t move.I didn’t say a word when they dragged Gianni in. One man on each side, his shoes scraping the concrete. His knees were bloody from where they’d dragged him from his cell to me. He looked like shit — shirt torn, hair stuck to his forehead with sweat and blood. He couldn’t look up. He wouldn’t dare.I tapped ash from my cigarette into an empty tray on my side stool. I wasn’t doing whiskey tonight. They dropped him in front of me. He hit the floor hard, palms slapping concrete as he tried to stay on his knees.“Boss—” he croaked, voice raw. “Boss, I swear—”I stood up from my chair and put the hand that didn’t have the cigarette in my pocket.“You had one job. You made me look weak.”He flinched. His eyes jumped

Luca:I noticed Cassie had been gone for too long.I reached for my pocket and took out my phone. I checked the tracker — the dot blinked near the back exit.I needed to be sure Cassie was protected, so I gave her a necklace with a tracking device. I didn’t want to risk it — especially on our wedding day.She told me she was going to get some fresh air, and she would’ve gone out through the front. Something wasn’t right.I called Matteo for backup and prepared extra security in case it came to this.We headed to the location and I saw a young man, probably in his early twenties — maybe late teens — wearing a catering uniform. And beside him was one of the Castellanis’ trusted bodyguards. I recognized him; he was always around Renzo whenever I had a business meeting with him.I signaled Matteo silently. It looked like they were about to abduct her, but they picked the wrong person to mess with today.Matteo cut him off first, blocking the bodyguard’s path and injecting him with our str
