Chapter 22: I'm pregnant

The moment she felt it on her tongue, her courage disappeared and she began coughing it out. She can't do it, she doesn't have to do it, she can't kill the child even if it was Martin's.

"What?" Lucia asked with a frown.

"I can't do it," Valerie shook her head. "I can't kill the child, the child is innocent, I can't do it" she burst out in tears.

"But Martin wouldn't accept this child so it's better you do it either way" Lucia told her.

"If... If he doesn't accept it then I'll just go somewhere far away and raise the child on my own.."

"Valerie!" Lucia gripped her shoulders with her eyes widened. "You are not planning on running away are you? Are you crazy? Do you want Martin to kill you and your family!?" She shouted at Valerie's face.

Valerie was visibly trembling, she didn't know what to do or think. "Maybe I can hide the pregnancy from him and when I deliver, I'll look for who to give the baby to" she said and Lucia stepped away from her.
