Mia's POV

“Go ahead, get anything you want.”

“Anything? Anything? Like, you mean anything?” I asked, raising an eyebrow with a teasing smirk. I didn’t even try to hide the disbelief in my voice.

Nobody—aside from my parents, before they died—had ever said those words to me.

My granny I lived with after the death of my parents never really asked, though she cared so much for me. She just picked what she thought I needed. Clothes? She’d hold them against me like I was a hanger, decide they were “decent enough,” and toss them in the cart. Even on rare trips when we went to an actual store, she still chose the sizes, styles, even the colors.

So, hearing that—being told I could pick anything, just because—felt like stepping into a life that wasn’t mine as I never knew I would ever hear such again in my life.

A thousand thoughts ran through my head in a second flat. I tried to hold steady, keep my emotions at bay. He was already suspicious of me as he had been from the start. If I got even

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 32- Truth or dare at the club.

Mia’s POVEven without suspecting anything right there at the club, so many escape ideas began to stir in my mind. Because honestly, once is a coincidence—but twice? That’s a pattern begging to be questioned. I didn't want to get caught off guard, not again. So I stayed alert, even while trying to look like I was just another pretty lady enjoying her wedding night.I watched everyone closely. Not with panic, just enough attention to detail so nothing would slip by me. I wouldn’t even blame myself for it. The outfit I had on made me feel like I was the walking spotlight in the room. Everyone's eyes found me at some point. That wasn’t paranoia—it was a fact.I had changed from the elegant court marriage gown to something flashier. The sequins on the dress caught the light with every move I made, throwing off tiny reflections like little sparks of fire. The deep red hugged my waistline and flared slightly at the bottom. I had never worn something so striking and still felt this confident

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 31. Signed and Sealed

Mia's POV“Shall we begin?”The registrar, a middle-aged woman in smart glasses, glanced up from the stack of papers and offered a smile.I nodded, my voice still somewhere deep in my throat at the small white hall, soft gold curtains, two chairs where Kraven and I sat, behind a table with crisp documents waiting to be signed, aside the other seats though. No flowers. No music. Just a ticking clock, the soft shuffle of feet, and Kraven’s steady presence beside me.As expected in a court marriage space. Before then, the room was quiet. Not necessarily tense, or exactly solemn—but still. The kind of quiet that hangs right before something official begins. Kraven reached for my hand and I let him take it.He didn’t say anything. Just held it, like that was enough as I was drenched in the scent of his cologne.I wasn’t even sure if I was breathing properly as it took all over the space. That would be nothing less than an Arabian perfume as I could tell from a few miles away.To be honest

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 30- Have I underestimated her?

KRAVEN'S POVAt this point, I don't know what to believe or even my stand with this lady, Aria.Even though in my whole life of dating, I haven't seen one who is always on my last nerves like this one, though in a sweet manner. But then I don't want to waste her life because I know we have a considerable way to go together. Knowing that if it was some other person that pushed me this way, the person round be dead by now, I know what I am capable of doing. The truth is that, I wouldn't even know if to believe her name is Aria because I think I have had it up to here- my neck. “Yes, I want to know the truth,” I said, my voice was low and rough, wanting to get the truth from her even it means threatening her. “Because you’d be making the biggest mistake of your life if you lie to me again. You know the consequences, huh?”I paused, still pointing the gun on her forehead, wondering why she is taking so much time to talk.“Who do you work for? You with the CIA? FBI? Or one of the other ma

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 29- He pulled down the gun

MIA’S POV“Okay,” I said in a low voice, barely above a whisper. “You want the truth? Then fine.”My palms were clammy and my chest tightened with each breath, as if every inhale scraped against my ribs. I was stalling, I knew that much. Trying to piece together something convincing, something that wouldn't blow up in my face—but the clock was ticking, and his patience was running thinner by the second. Before I could utter another word, he cut through the silence like a knife.“Yes, I want to know the truth,” he said, his voice low and rough, like gravel under tires. “Because you’d be making the biggest mistake of your life if you lie to me again. You know the consequences, huh?”He paused, and that pause… it felt loaded, like the calm before a deadly storm with the gun still pointed on my forehead.“Who do you work for? You with the CIA? FBI? Or one of the other mafians trying to crawl their way into my territory? Speak up—say something real quick. Or I’ll pull the trigger right her

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 28- A gunpoint to me face.

Mia's POV Kraven didn’t even flinch at my act. Of course he didn’t as he must have seen that coming from a mile away.“You don’t know…” His voice was way too calm, a stark contrast to the action I could sense that it was about to play out. “Or are you just pretending not to know?”His words sliced through the air like a knife and I stopped in my tracks. My back still turned to him, shoulders tense and heart in my throat. I turned around slowly, hoping my expression looked confused enough to match the panic brewing inside. “Pretending not to know what exactly, Kraven? Huh?” I said, putting extra stress on his name like I was the one being wronged. “Is that how all you could think of me?” I didn't mind putting in more ‘shifting the blame’ energy to make him believe me.His eyes darkened as he pointed at my right hand—the same hand that had snatched the tracker just seconds ago from him. “Where the hell did that come from? And why were you wearing it, Aria?”Shit. Shit. Shit.‘He can’t

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 27- This might be the end of the road.

Mia's POVI had just zipped up the same outfit I came in with, the one I wore before I tried on the court marriage dress. I didn’t feel like trying anything else as somehow my mind tell telling me that I am in for a long ride by the time Kraven gets in.No matter how much I try to convince myself that nothing was going to happen, but then how could I even get myself to believe that. Knowing that I caught his eyes earlier when I handed it over—too easily, maybe. I tried not to show it, but I saw it. That flicker in his gaze that said he noticed something. And now, he had the ring and was gone with it.So, I waited. Tried on nothing else as I just stood by the mirror pretending to smooth my top, but really listening to the ticking clock, counting each minute. My mind was running and calculating only God knows what. If he found something, it wouldn’t be hard for him to connect a few dots. Kraven wasn’t the type to ignore his instincts. In a little while, I got to know that he was calcula
