50. Do You Love Me?
...Damian POV...
One word. That's all that was said, but it managed to tell so much. With that one word, I was left with so many questions. Why was she afraid of the Cobras? Were they still after her? I was sure Jessica had handled them, but perhaps there was something she missed. The more I looked at her now; I could see that she was petrified. So I pulled her into my arms, showing her that there was nothing to be afraid of. I would do everything in my power to keep her safe. But I need to know what she wasn't telling me. It was clear that the Cobras had terrified the hell out of her. I needed to know why she was so afraid.
"Tell me. What's going on? What are you afraid of." I asked.
Then as if I was in a movie, she pushed me away and became a different person altogether. She looked around nervously as she got down from the car as if looking for something or someone. Once she saw no one was nearby, she stepped away from me.

...Haley POV...By the time Damian finished making love to me, we were both left breathless in a heap in the office. By now the Library had been closed for a few hours now. The lights had gone out throughout the building, signalling that we were the only ones left. I looked over to Damian and smiled. I couldn't believe we'd just done that. We'd been driving for a few hours already. The trip had been mostly silent. Damian forced me to pull over and eat. I was happy he didn't ask where we were going. "Follow me." Kayden said as he turned away from me. I did exactly that, using my foot to kick the door closed. Kayden led me to a small room, and I placed Haley on the bed.
