"Who is she?!" The lady, who appeared to be on her way out, asked the cute guy with a frown, directing her question at me.
"Jessica, you need to calm down. I met her here. She said she wanted to meet a friend, and I assumed the friend was you," he explained, trying to mediate the situation.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault," I confessed, deciding it was time to reveal the truth. "Actually, I got my passport switched with this guy's, and this was the address written there." I handed her the passport.
She took the passport from me and opened it, gasping when she saw the picture.
"Drex?"
"Jesse, I thought I had you to myself today," the guy next to me complained, leaving me confused.
"You do. I promise, I didn't know he was going to come with school and everything," Jesse assured him. She then turned to me. "You," she said, addressing me.
"Me?" I asked, uncertain of what was happening.
"Yes, can you stay here and wait for him, the guy in the passport? He'll be here soon, I know it," she requested. Jesse then brushed her hair and smiled at the guy beside me before walking out of her apartment. "Come on, Jasper, let's go," she said.
Jasper, the guy with the cute glasses, turned around and winked at me, leaving me slightly bewildered.
I settled into the apartment with my bag and suitcase, taking in the luxurious surroundings that wealthy people seemed to enjoy. After a long, hot shower, I climbed into the comfortable bed and, before I knew it, drifted off to sleep.
However, my slumber was abruptly interrupted by a loud ringing in my head. Annoyed, I quickly got up and answered the telephone that was ringing on Jessica's table.
"Hello?" I groggily greeted the caller.
"Hi, is this Jessica?" the man on the line inquired.
"No, not her," I replied.
"Well, a guy here claims to know you and gave us this number. He's been put under arrest, and the only person who can help him is you," the man explained.
"Alright, I'll be there," I agreed, despite not having Jessica's number. I couldn't just leave the situation unattended, so I got dressed and headed to the police station.
"Hi, I'm here for the guy who claims to know Jessica," I informed the receptionist. He pointed me in the right direction, and I followed his guidance. Inside a small office, I found a man dressed in a Spiderman suit, obscuring his face. The officer behind the desk instructed me to take a seat.
"Do you know this man?" the officer asked, showing me the person beside me, who was hiding behind his mask. I tried to remove his mask but encountered resistance.
"A little help?" I requested from the officer.
He looked at me with a questioning expression.
"Well, I can't identify him if he keeps his mask on," I reasoned with the officer.
"Mr. man, would you please take off your mask, or you won't be released from here," the officer insisted.
The guy slowly removed his mask, revealing himself to be the same individual from the airport.
"Also, we asked him for his passport. He gave us this and claimed he must have lost his," the officer added, displaying a passport. It turned out to be my passport.
"Thank you, officer, that's mine. We got them switched," I said, handing over the correct passport.
After Drex showed the officer his real passport, they released him. I walked out of the station, intending to retrieve my belongings.
"Hey there!" Drex called after me, but I began walking faster. I wasn't ready to deal with him just yet.
**LIA** "Hey there!" Drex came after me, calling out to get my attention. I quickened my pace, hoping to lose him, but he shouted my name loudly, drawing the attention of passersby. To avoid further commotion, I reluctantly stopped walking. "Hey!" He finally caught up with me. 'What?' I asked, my tone harsh. 'I just wanted to ask what you were doing at my girlfriend's room,' he inquired. Wait, that girl was his girlfriend? I thought she was with that other cute guy. I decided to keep my thoughts to myself. 'Well, I came looking for you, but you weren't there, so she told me to wait for you,' I explained. 'Why were you arrested again?' I remembered he was in a Spiderman suit and almost burst into laughter when I thought about it, but he gave me a knowing look, so I managed to hold it in. 'Okay, I came to Singapore to meet my family but came especially today because today is her birthday. I thought I'd surprise her, but she was asleep when I got to her bedroom window. That was wh
**LIA** "But I got here first; you can't do this to me," I whined with mock indignation. Drex chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I get dibs on the bed because... I paid most," he stated, his tone almost teasing, and he held his head high in mock triumph. "No fair," I protested, pretending to pout as I stood up and dramatically stepped out of the bedroom. Drex couldn't help but smile proudly, his eyes dancing with amusement, as if he'd just won a playful contest. I heard the bedroom door close behind me. How could he treat a lady this way? I playfully muttered to myself that I should be the one enjoying the comfort of that bed right now. Resigned to the couch, I checked my phone once more – it was already 8:50 PM. Closing my eyes, I attempted to find solace in sleep, but it remained frustratingly elusive. Checking my phone again, it displayed 9:30 PM. Why couldn't I sleep? My mind seemed to be racing with thoughts, and the minutes dragged on slowly. After battling with my
**LIA** "Lia..." Groaning, Drex's kisses left a trail of fire along my neck, and my body responded with moans of pleasure. "Hmm..." I moaned in response to his tantalizing touch. His hands deftly moved to unbutton my shirt, revealing more of my skin. Our lips remained locked in a passionate embrace, and with a firm grip on my waist, he led me toward the bedroom. My shirt and singlet soon joined the pile on the floor, and Drex closed the bedroom door behind us. He pushed me against the wall, my half-naked body exposed to the warmth of his gaze. With swift determination, he moved on to my leggings, sliding them down my legs. I assisted by removing them from my ankles, eager to move forward. Despite being half-naked in front of this attractive stranger, I didn't want to stop the irresistible momentum. As he shed his own T-shirt, I playfully took charge of the situation, pushing him onto the bed with a playful grin. "Ooh, look who's being sassy," he teased, chuckling at my sudden shift
**LIA** "What are you doing here?" Drex's voice was tinged with confusion as he peered through the bed covers, quickly realizing the situation. Panic etched across his face as he looked back at me. "I'm pretty sure I slept on the couch! So what am I doing here?! Did you bring me here?" I shouted, wrapping the bed cover around myself, desperately hoping he hadn't seen anything. "Why are we naked?" Both of us questioned in unison. "My gosh! What did we do?" I stood up, clutching the entire bed cover around me, accidentally leaving Drex exposed. My eyes widened involuntarily, not knowing where to look. "Ahh!" he yelped, promptly grabbing his boxers to shield his modesty. I felt my face flush with embarrassment and turned away, averting my gaze. "Well, don't look at me!" he yelled again. "We'll need to talk about what happened, but after we get dressed," I mumbled, my face still burning with embarrassment. "I'm sorry I stared!" I called back to him as I retreated from the room. Wh
**LIA** Finally, I arrived back home that afternoon, but not before making a detour to Jessica's apartment and a pharmacy. I stood in front of my house, ready to knock. A mixture of excitement and apprehension welled up within me. I faked a smile and took a deep breath. While I was undeniably happy to be home, the situation I was in cast a shadow over my return. With newfound resolve, I finally knocked on the door. "It's opened!" Lena, my sister, called from inside. "Come on, Selena, go and check who's at the door," my mom's voice followed. It had been so long. Yes, we had FaceTimed, chatted, and had countless phone calls, but nothing compared to the real thing. I was almost in tears, given my situation and how much I had missed her. "Ugh! Mum, you're stressing me out!" Lena's exasperated voice echoed through the house. "Come on, get up, you lazy ass! Be useful to me for once!" my mom's response was filled with irritation. I was close to laughter. The dynamics between them hadn't
*ONE YEAR LATER* **DREX** The room buzzed with excitement as everyone chanted, "Cut the cake!" Yes, that's right, it was my birthday, and today was also the day of my engagement ceremony to the love of my life, Jessica. She was the woman I had once tried to surprise on her birthday, but that attempt had gone horribly wrong due to a situation with... someone else. After successfully cutting the cake, a strange, unfamiliar voice suddenly pierced the celebratory atmosphere. "Hold it right there!" The voice belonged to a young woman holding a baby wrapped in a white flannel. Her arrival drew collective gasps of surprise and attention. She pointed directly at me. "You," she exclaimed. I was bewildered by the sudden intrusion. "Me?" I asked, my confusion evident. "Why are you here, and who are you? I don't remember inviting this person," my father said, positioning himself between me and the woman, trying to shield me from her view. "This is your grandchild!" she declared, causing a
**LIA** I arrived home, expecting to find my baby peacefully sleeping or my sister looking after her. However, I was met with a surprising sight: my sister was busy applying makeup. I scanned the room in search of my child, but she was nowhere in sight. "where is Angel?" I asked. My sister nonchalantly continued her makeup application. "I solved your problem for you," she replied. "What... what problem?" My confusion was evident in my voice. My sister set down her makeup and approached me. She placed her hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm sorry I acted without your knowledge, but it was necessary. It's for the best. Now you're free to continue with your life." I moved back a little, distancing myself from her touch. "Could you please clarify? I need it in plain language. 'Live my life' and 'I'm free' doesn't make sense to me," I insisted, growing increasingly frustrated. "I took Angel to a better place," she explained. "What are you saying?!" I raised my voice. "I took her to
**LIA** Drex and I stood anxiously behind the imposing dining hall doors. His father's words weren't to be taken lightly. Even Lena was inside that room! I couldn't help but wonder, why me? We exchanged frustrated glances as we waited for the outcome of this family discussion. My patience was wearing thin, and I couldn't stand the thought of talking to him, this so-called father-to-my-child who had run from his responsibilities like a coward. I glared at Drex, unable to contain my agitation. "Got anything to say to me?" My impatience slipped through my voice. His response was terse, "No." "Then quit staring!" I snapped, not bothering to hide my irritation. Drex muttered, "It's not like you didn't stare back." I scoffed, "Well, unlike someone, I didn't run away from the stare, I stared back." As the seconds ticked by, I couldn't help but seethe at the whole situation. I was eager for the door to open, revealing the fate of my dear Angel. Drex's voice cut through the tense air,
