Chapter 15 Victory is Assured

The following day, Judy was preparing herself backstage at the piano competition venue. However, it was less about preparing and more about enjoying the attention of the many men surrounding her. Her background and appearance made it nearly impossible for her not to be noticed. Besides, she reveled in being surrounded by admirers, even though she did not care for any of them. As she finished applying her makeup, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in the corner of her eye. She immediately shook off the men around her and strode forward.

"Liam, you really came."

To Judy's knowledge, Liam rarely attended such events. But, now that he was here, it must be for her sake. She was ecstatic, not only because she held a special place in Liam's heart but also because she was sure to win the competition with him present. This international piano competition was highly regarded in the industry, and winning it would be akin to taking a significant step forward in high society. Eager to take advantage of the situation, she was about to get close to Liam when unexpectedly, Gwyneth pushed open the door and entered. Judy almost thought she had seen wrong, wondering why that woman would come here. As far as she knew, Gwyneth had never learned to play the piano, let alone enter a competition. Glancing at Liam, she sneered in her heart and approached Gwyneth with a warm smile.

"Gwyneth, I know you must be upset about your divorce, but there is no need to demean yourself like this." She intentionally stressed the word "demean" and smirked as people around her began to gather.

However, Gwyneth's laughter was even more unrestrained than Judy's. "It seems that everything revolves around men in your world, doesn't it?" Gwyneth looked around with a raised eyebrow. "I had no idea you were so desperate to get married. It's a pity that no one wants to marry you, though."

"Gwyneth!"

"Yes, sister. I'm here."

Judy's face flushed with anger. "What are you so smug about? Do you even understand the piano? I suggest you leave now, or else the person who will be humiliated is... come back here!"

Gwyneth had no interest in listening to Judy's incessant chatter. Without waiting for her to finish, she turned around and left the backstage area, leaving Judy behind, shouting like a ridiculous clown.

Liam, who had been standing on the side, was now merely an observer. Watching Gwyneth's retreating figure and recalling her commanding presence just moments ago, he could not help but smile. 'What an interesting young woman.'

As the competition was about to begin, all the contestants were gathered on stage. At this moment, Judy stood among the crowd, trying to locate Gwyneth to find out her performance order. She thought that no matter which performance order Gwyneth had, winning against her would be a piece of cake. But after searching for a while without seeing Gwyneth, Judy sneered. 'She must have come to her senses and decided to leave.'

"I hereby announce the commencement of this piano competition."

The stage lights came on as the host's voice echoed through the venue. Judy's eyes widened in shock when she saw a familiar figure among the judges.
