CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

Frema kept looking out the window, planning to bolt away and lock herself in once she gets into her house. She knew better than shooing him off, it would just lead to the same thing. He'd have her under him at the end. But she wasn't ready, never will be. She told herself. So as soon as the car stopped, she pushed the door open and ran out in the open, pulling at her door before remembering it was locked and searching frantically in her purse, pockets, under the rug.

"Looking for. . this?" His voice breathed against her ear, making her almost start crying. He had the damn keys.

"You. . You took it," she rasped.

"I did." He agreed before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder then bending to open the door. She hardly made any sound after a small shriek, just cursing her fate and her insides for betraying her so much.
