The alpha scoffed faintly. He stared at the omega for a few seconds, trying to understand what he was feeling for her. It couldn’t be a mate bond, could it?

There was no way that the Moon goddess would create a mate bond between an alpha and omega. Just no way. So he was trying his best to make sense of it.

“Can I ask you something?” His voice was soft as he continued to stare into her eyes, his heart pounding.

The omega gulped and then gave him a small smile. “Sure.”

“Do you feel what I feel?”

The question threw Selena off, she immediately looked away from the guy. She could feel her face getting red, the heat was quick to take over it. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She turned her attention to the view, afraid that if she looked at the alpha, she would give in and confess her feelings for him.

“Selena, look at me,” he said firmly. When she did, he asked again, “Do you feel it too? That pull…like a mate bond? I have never experienced it before but every werewolf knows wh

“Wake up, what are you doing?” A voice startled Selena as she had her head bent over while crying. She looked up and saw who it was…Beta Leon.“I’m sorry,” She sobbed the words out as she stood on her feet, her heart feeling like lava had been poured on it. “I just…” her breath hitched and she felt more tears escape her eyes.Leon sighed. “Look, you will be fine, okay? Bad things happen, but we can learn from them rather than letting them destroy us.”“What if I don’t want to learn from them? What if I’m too tired to learn from them?” Selena asked, her voice breaking as she stared at the man.He stared back at her, and then muttered something under his breath before replying to her, “Come here.” He pulled her in for a hug, something that he didn’t usually do…especially to omegas.Selena felt tentative about the hug but she eventually gave in, hugging the man and crying on his shoulder. It felt good, it felt freeing. It felt like it was what she had needed.Funny enough, since her life

  • The Moon Goddess’s Mistake    Chapter 31. After The Rejection

Do you know the feeling you get when you feel so hurt that it turns to anger? That feeling of just wanting to grab the one who caused you pain and just shake them, yelling in their face for them to understand. That was what Selena was feeling right now. She really did care for Elijah, but she just couldn’t love him. Yes, she knew she had not treated him right when she was with him and probably deserved all of this, but still she just wanted him to understand that love was such a complicated emotion.Sometimes, you love so hard that you embarrass yourself in so many ways. You love so hard that things you wouldn’t typically do, you see yourself doing. Love was what Selena would refer to as a slave master, and the heart its slave. It was such a strong feeling that could never just die or go away. So she knew very well that what she felt for Elijah was far from it. It was very far from love. And she knew deep down that even if he accepted and gave her a second chance, she won’t ever be

Selena scoffed, running her hand through her hair and closing her eyes for a few seconds before opening them. “Is it so wrong that I was honest with you? Did you want me to lie? Did you want me to pretend that I loved you and use you for your money and influence?”Elijah shrugged. “I’m not saying that. All I’m saying is that if you knew you didn’t love me, you should have stayed the hell away from me. You should have rejected the bond between us when I had approached you. I literally married you and took you in as my mate, Selena!”“Don’t yell at me,” She replied without missing a beat. “And I’m sorry, okay? I am. But can you blame me? I’m an omega, meeting you changed my life. I have a sister who’s always gravely sick, my mom works two jobs and even at that, it’s not enough. You were my lifesaver. You saved my family. You saved me.”He smiled sadly. “I saved you but you couldn’t do one thing. One little thing. You couldn’t love me. I didn’t even have sex with you.” “It’s not always

  • The Moon Goddess’s Mistake    Chapter 29. A Broken Heart

Selena was no longer crying but her heart was so heavy. Her head ached and her body felt like it had been beaten by twelve men. She still couldn’t believe or wrap her head around the fact that Elijah had really finalized the rejection; that he had made it public. She kept replaying the night she had messed it up, in her head like a broken record. If only she would have done things differently. But she knew there was no going back in time, it was just impossible. She had to accept things as they were.“We have to hurry, I just got a text that Elijah is already at the Chambers,” Leon Beta said as he led the way out of the mansion. He reached one of the fancy cars and got in, soon sitting behind the steering wheel and bringing the car to life before turning and watching the omega get in.Selena wanted to feel numb, she wanted all the voices in her head to just shut up, but that was easier said than done. She was being tortured by her emotions; by her own heart and mind. They had ganged

  • The Moon Goddess’s Mistake    Chapter 28. Rejection

Selena had to excuse herself, she was trying so hard not to cry in front of the workers. She didn’t want to be the stereotypical girl who would bawl her eyes out and have a nervous breakdown all because of a rejection. But the truth here was that she was. She wanted to tear her heart out of her chest, it was aching so much. She wanted to just scream at the top of her lungs. Or maybe even punch a wall.It was just too much for her, and she hated it.But she tried to convince herself that maybe the maid had made a mistake and it had not been Elijah. The doctor loved her, right? The problem was her not being able to love him, not the other way around. If you love someone, there’s no way you would want to just get rid of them. It’s supposed to be hard for you. You’re not supposed to just discard them like trash, as if you never even cared. So it must have been a mistake. She knew that Elijah loved her very much, the threat of him rejecting her was just a way to scare her; to punish her. H

  • The Moon Goddess’s Mistake    Chapter 27. It Was Inevitable

Selena was trying so hard to wrap her head around the conversation she had eavesdropped on. She kept replaying it in her head. It was literally the same thing that Cat had said she had seen in the spirit world. As much as the omega wanted to believe that it was nothing but a coincidence, it was kind of hard to do that.Cat had talked about how Selena had been in the Spirit World and had been levitating with glory all around her and her hair white as snow.If whatever prophecy that Alpha Maddox and the others had been talking was true, then that meant that she was supposed to be the Luna who would save the pack. But come on, that was just ridiculous. It was. Selena wasn’t going to change her mind about not believing in the Moon goddess and those kind of things. She couldn’t even help herself, how was she supposed to help the entire pack? And how was she going to become Luna of a group of people who would rather die than to ever allow an omega to rule them? And let’s not forget, as muc
