LOGINI stomped my feet on the wooden floor, my mind ramming with thoughts as I stepped out of the washhouse– a small rectangular building with five partitions and walked into the empty room.
Apparently, the four other mates I shared the room with had gone to Moon's knows where and I was the only one left alone. The Shadow Clan had accepted to take me in, Courtesy of Vera. They were not rude to me and were not nice to me either. I couldn't care less as my mind was filled with other thoughts. Benita's shocking revelation had kept me occupied and since then, I realized how foolish I was. Since I met these girls , none of them seemed broken. Infact they glowed and radiated like the morning sun. Also, they came from the Shadow and Pack Clan, the two most powerful clan after red wolf. Lord Alpha Tirion would think twice before waging a war on them. So why was my mother killed? I grunted, anger boiling through my veins as i put on the large satin white gown and stomped out of the room. There was only one way to find out the truth and I knew exactly where to find it. The howls of wolves filled my ears as I walked down the hallway. The Shadow clan must be enjoying the full moon. “The Shadow clan are so wild,” I heard a voice say as I passed the pack clan quarters. “But I think they have a better chance than that Falme girl.” I paused and leaned on the door. “I wonder why a Falme girl is allowed to participate.” Another girl said, “ I thought they were banned from participating a thousand years ago after the 'incident.’ I didn't hear what they said further as I walked away. I had better things on my mind. A half hour glass later, I stepped into the hall of scrolls. “You are here.” Vera said, not lifting up her face as she scanned through some scrolls on the table. I walked silently towards her, not once taking my gaze off her. “My Mother was killed by the king's men.” I stopped in front of the table, “Why?” Vera continued reading her scrolls, “ The order of the king is his and his alone. I do not have any say in the matter.” “You want me to believe that he gives a fuck about a girl from Falme?”i gritted. She dropped the scroll and looked at me, “Your wolf,” She said, smiling. “I can't feel it.” My gaze fluttered. “You can't wolf out, can you?” She asked. I looked away, pouting my lips. She chuckled and picked up the scrolls. “If you want answers, Amara. You should ask Elder Lan, he is the one that brought you here.” She looked back at me again, “You may leave.” Elder Lan, I thought as I bowed. He was the most powerful amongst the council of Elders. Why would he want me here? And was he the reason my Mother was killed? “The king's Army,” I asked, “Do they only work on the king's command?” Vera paused, her brows tightening as she peered at me, hesitating. “The house of Cheng mostly makes up the king's army.” She finally said. “They are mostly humans and can be manipulated by a higher being to do one's bidding especially someone powerful.” “Someone as powerful as Elder Lan.” I said, the realization dawning on me. “Good luck finding him.” Vera mused. “Even the Mother Superior herself has never set eyes on him.” I gave a sarcastic smile and made to leave when Vera voiced, “When you get to the end of the hallway,” She said in a cold tone. “Follow East.” I blinked, confused as I nodded and stepped out. Why would I follow East when I walked through the west end to get here? I walked down the end of the hallway, looking at both path and turned to follow the East end when a voice fliters to my ears. “Amara.” A soft voice called from behind. I frozed, cold chill seeping through my skin as I turned and gasped. A white wolf spirit stood at the East path, smiling at me. “I am your wolf.” It said softly, “Don't you remember?” I shook my head, my eyes fixed on it like a daze, “ I do not know you.” It's eyes fluttered, as if it seemed hurt by what I said. “Well that is not a problem.” It said. “Come to me, I will remind you of everything.” Slowly, I walked towards it. An unknown force pushing me further. My mind screamed danger but my heart wanted to know more, like what I have been yearning for, for years was right there. Waiting. I moved further, inching closer to the spirit when suddenly. Everything dissolved and I manifest into another room. The room was a cave and four torches burned at four cardinal points. It smelt like Ash and rot and then….blood. I looked around, my heart thundering as my gaze fall on a man kneeling, staring into the concrete wall. I gasped as I look at his skin. There were scars of different kinds. Old and New. They sat on his skin like trophies stretched on a cupboard. Suddenly, he turned sharply towards me and I gasped, realizing who it was. Lord Tirion. His once geled hair was now a shattered mess, falling dishelevely across his face. He looked like a mad man, locked away for a long time. His eyes were no longer calm and cold. The remnant of fire had become a raging furnace. “Who are you?” He grunted, his voice rough and edgy. He picked the whip that layed besides him, holding on to it, firmly. “I ask again,” he said, standing on his feet, walking towards me. “ Who are you?” My breath caught in my throat as I stood motionless staring at him. It was as if my mouth had become to heavy to speak. “Who are you?!!!!” He thundered, his eyes changing as he morphed into his wolf form. The world stood forzen, my legs rooted to the concrete as I watched him growl and morphed. And that was when it hit me. My vision, it had become real. He morphed completely into his wolf and charging towards me. When– A blindingly white charged between us and I see myself in the hallway of the barn wing. What happened? How did I get here? “The first path to destruction, Young lady is paying no heed to an Elder's warning.” I paused, cold sweat trailing down my spine as I peered at the man before me. “W-Who are you?” I asked, my voice trembling. The old man laughed like I had asked the most stupidest question. “In the books of ages, they call me the fire of the four kingdoms. The one who had seen the beginning of time.” He said. “But in the new age,” He continued. “They call me Elder Lan.”~Amara~An evil grin creeped up my lips as I watched the blood gush out of her nose. "You fucking bitch," she cursed at me, her hands holding her nose as she glared me daggers. A tingling sensation fluttered in my belly and I press my lips and smirk. If this was how it felt putting a bitch in her fucking place. I wouldn't mind doing it every day.Anya glared at me and stood up."How dare you?!" She barked, glaring at me with bloodshot rage.I tilt my head to a side, and peer at her with amusement, "How dare I what?""How dare you punch Rebecca on the nose?"I clicked my tongue and pouted, "Since when did Rebecca become a demi god?" "You?!" she cursed, twirling a finger at me, "since when did you become this confident?""Since the day you all decided not to stop being bitches."She scoffed, her lips parting in surprise, "Do you think you can get away with this?"I stepped forward and closed the gap between us, "Do. Your. Worst.""My lady!"Glinda shrieked."What?!" I hissed. She thre
[Act II: And Blood Will Reign.]~Amara~“Drop the knife, Aemon,” Tirion snarled, a dangerous gaze lit in his eyes as he glared at Aemon.Aemon chuckled darkly, throwing his head back like a mad man immersed in a psychotic show.“Oh, how I have missed that tone,” he said, his lips pulling into a cruel grin, “It’s been a long time since I've seen you this angry, brother. Almost makes me feel… nostalgic.”He tightened his hold on me, pressing the blade harder against my throat and I flinched.A mix of anger and desperation flashed in Tirion's eyes, “Let her go,Aemon. You don’t want to see what happens if you don’t.”“Aemon, don't listen to him.” Queen Nianieve finally found her breath, “Kill her. End the witch’s hold over him!”“Mother!” Tirion’s loomed, jerking his grip on her,”You do not want to test my patience.”Aemon sighed dramatically.“Oh, this is getting boring,”he groaned. The knife slid and warm blood trickled down my neck. “Your mother or the girl, brother?”Aemon grinned.Ti
~Amara~“Well, this is new,” I murmured as I turned in front of the mirror, my fingers brushing over the soft velvet gown clad to my skin. The faint scent of rose and myrrh rose from the fabric, filling the air and I wondered if this was how every girl in golden city smelled.“The King instructed that you wear it,” the maid, whom I have now known as Glinda said, her usual shy smile still tugged on her lips.I sighed and run a hand over my hair. Glinda had braided them neatly, just like the way mother always did . The strands were elegantly woven, patterned in such a way that I could barely recognize the girl in the mirror. The worthless piece of trash from Falme that everyone scorned disappearing in the mass of luxury.“You worry too much, my lady,” Glinda’s voice cuts through my thoughts as if reading my mind.I blinked at her reflection. “What?”“The king doesn’t show favors to just anyone,” she said, walking up to me— tucking a lose hair strand behind my ear, “If he has a proble
~~Amara~~The sudden burst of sun rays against my eyelids made me groan. “Mother moon,” I moaned, rubbing my palms against my eyelids as I turned over the pillow and faced east.“My lady,” a soft feminine voice called, “it's dawn already. Time to get prepared.”“Noooooo “ I drawled, snuggling myself against the cushion, “i haven't slept enough yet.”The voice chuckled lightly, “I am sorry my lady, but the king has instructed that you get prepared and join him at the dinning hall.”“Well, I don't want t–” Wait…I jerked up from the cushion, my eyes widening, “Did you just say the king?”“Yes, My lady.” the maiden smiled. She looked nice and pretty, like a meek little lamb usually satisfied with the little things of life.“The king is not a patient man, My Lady,” She said, pulling me out of the cushion and pushing me towards the bathhouse, “We must make haste.” She stopped at a table and picked up a basket, my eyes widening at the contents inside.“Is that not the king's petals?” I a
***~~Amara~~***A cold chill swept through my spine as I turned, my gaze falling on him. He was now clothed in a black robe, his hair wet and disheveled. He held a towel in his left hand and stood against the fireplace. The glow of the flames illuminated his body, making his chest and abdomen glint like some sculpted golden figure. I swallowed.“You are one tiring person, you moon goddess reborn,” he said as he moved away from the fireplace and helped himself to one of the cushions. “First you create a commotion by kidnapping a wolf, now you create another by trying to leave. Do you so desperately crave attention?”I jerked slightly and frowned. “Your Majesty, if what you mean by attention is you saving me from Lan, I'd like to remind you that i in no way persuaded you.”His voice rounded the room as he laughed, “Is this how you thank the man that saved you?'I clasped my palms together, “Well, Your Majesty. My mother once told me the thin line between gratitude and servitude can
***~~Amara~~***"Y.... Y... Your Majesty," Lan stammered like a fool as he bowed to Tirion. Tirion sighed, ignoring Lan as he moved away from him and walked to me.His face was expressionless, eyes stone cold as he peered at me. I squint my eyes, trying to read what could be going through that small head of his, but I couldn't.Was he angry? Furious? Livid? or was he happy? Sad? Remorseful? Why was he here? What could be the reason that made him come here? My brain spined as the barrage of questions swarm in my thoughts. It was always a puzzle when it came to him.He turned away from me and sighed."Do you mind telling me, Lan." He voiced, "Why you have a maiden of the palace strapped on a stretcher like a street dog?"Lan shuddered, clearing his throat as he forced up a smile, "Well, it is not what you think, your Majesty. You see, she was cast with a spell by a slave of the dark one. I just wanted to help."Tirion raised a brow, "And by help, you mean strapping her on a torture c
