Chapter Seven—The Moon’s Muse(2)

**ASHER**

There was no way the painter was being serious with the next words that rolled out of her mouth. My eyes almost widened as my mouth almost dropped agape, still I managed to keep my expression under wraps and remained stoic.

“I beg your pardon?”

She shrugged, “You heard me the first time.”

“No I didn’t” I lied through my teeth.

She rolled her eyes again, pretty annoyed to be repeating the questions, “Asher, can you strip naked for me??”

She was joking.

For sure I knew she was joking. Playing some sort of game or prank, as a punishment for me watching her from the woods last night.

“Is this a joke?” I asked, my left brow arching in question.

“No,” She shook her head, “I’m serious. I wanr you naked.”

“Why??”

“Because you’re perfect.”

“That’s ridiculous,” I scoffed loudly, this woman was crazy as she was beautiful, “I’m perfect for what?!”

I almost bit my bottom lip off when I finally yelled, “Wait!!” He looked right up at me, “What?” “I…I…” stuttering heavily, “We don’t have to finish the mural today.” It was a great lie, a perfect lie, one I wished and hoped he believed—that I couldn’t finish the mural, instead of me being a coward. “That’s fine by me.” He murmured, “What’s next?” “Uhhh… I need you to stand beside the water, cl..close to the waterbed almost and look straight towards me.” I responded, nervous to the wreck. He nodded and did exactly as I wanted, the perfect position. I picked up my thin line brush to map out his body. It was almost too enthralling, every stroke, every lave of my brush on the canvass. Chapter Nine—Another Lurker In The Shadows **AURORA** I stared at him with my mouth agape, dumbfounded by his sudden aggressiveness. Something was aloof and he clearly wasn’t telling me, who is Asher Blackwood?? “Fine!” I yelled, “You want me to leave?!! I’ll leave! I never want to see your stupid face ever again!!” “You will.” He muttered as I grabbed my brushes and palette, stuffing them into my satchel. I turned around, sending him a death glare, “What makes you think so?!” He was calm, it irked me even more, “We’re not done with the painting.” I glanced over at the painting, my fists balled hard and my jaw clenched seeing how right he was. I wasn’t done, so engrossed that I didn’t realize I only painted the body and not the most important part—his eyes. “Hmph. I have a good memory.” I finally replied as I eased the painting off my easel, mounting it gently on my bike, “Goodnight Asher Blackwood.” “I’ll see you again.”

I paid no heed to his words, just his beautiful eyes. Who was this man? Why haven’t I seen him before? And most of all…How did he get so close to me without me noticing him sooner? Surely I would’ve caught him running down the high ground. He frowned, “I said you need to leave,” his voice sounding more gruff, “A woman like you shouldn’t be in these woods….alone, and naked.” There it was, the final realization snapped hard inside of me as my eyes trailed down to my naked body. My eyes widened, almost popping out of its sockets. “You creep!” I cried out, “You’re the one in the trees watching, looking at me naked!!” He roll

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter Six—The Moon’s Muse

Chapter Six—The Moon’s Muse **ASHER** What was I doing? Placing a message for her like that? I heaved a sigh of relief as I watched intently from outside the diner, the creep I was, as the painter picked up the note I left on the table. A piece of crumpled paper which I had resting in my pocket, and yet the only way I could invite her without alerting more suspicion to myself. I was starting to break the rule, less interaction with humans. It was a foolish rule anyway in my book, a law passed down by generations of werewolves who isolated themselves from civilization. I didn’t want to live that way, I also didn’t want to rewrite my family’s history, hence the less interaction rule. However with the painter it was different, there was something just awe about her, I couldn’t quite place my finger on it. She was beautiful, yes, she painted like goddess, yes, but still there was something that attracted me to her and I intended to get to the bottom of it. I

Madeline was watching me from the kitchen, her piercing gaze could be felt from miles away. “What would you like sir?” I asked again, hoping for this interaction to end swiftly so I could rid myself of Asher Blackwood and his strangeness. He looked down at the menu right in front of him, then back at me. His eyes were a lukewarm brown under the daylight now, still I saw the glint of gold—enticing. “Ma’am?” I snapped out of it, my short trance and cleared
